The Auguste (Indefinite Hiatus)

I didn't have a memory of who I am when I woke up. I don't know why, but I seem to have been able to think like an adult person the moment I was born. I'm smarter than everyone my age, but I think that will quickly change soon. A robotic voice, which is the tutorial bot, said that I was created for many purposes, but above those is the purpose of growing stronger until i am the strongest. I don't know who my creator was, since he's dead, but I will find out on my own. I am Auguste, a clown trying to find his own purpose, not the ones given to him, and this is my story of how I became the god above gods. _____________________ I am not that good of a writer, and quite self conscious also. If you can, please point out my mistakes so that I can fix it for later readers. Anyhow, enjoy the novel!

Chapter 45: Tournament (Part 2)

I used my mana to calculate my competitions' strength, and only found 9 teams that could possibly reach the Rank Battles.

I am sure that my team will reach the rank battles since I am currently stronger than every contestant in the arena.

The stadium the audience sat in is different from our stadium, they could only watch us with a transparent mana screen that is connected to a recording crystal on top of our stadium.

This is done so that no one could get injured when the disciples fight. It is incredibly difficult to contain foundation establishment cultivators' attacks without rendering them immobile, so the sect just built another stadium for the competitors.

So, here I stand, on the sidelines along with the others. Only a short stone fence was blocking us from going down the stage, which is where the fighting will occur.

A lot of teams were bored out of their minds since it was taking too long for the tournament to start.

I simply sat down, and talked with my team.

"Randy, the bombs, you have them?" I asked Randy, who is currently wearing the uniform given to us by the sect for the tournament; a black gi.

He then replied, "How could I forget about my dear bombs? I wouldn't miss for my dear life the chance to use them without getting repercussions from the sect!"

This guy… is a maniac. He loves bombs so much that he was willing to go against the sect's rules just to use them. It was specifically mentioned that bombs aren't allowed to be used in the sect, and they had to bubble that for this guy since he wouldn't stop using bombs to make everything explode!

"Just don't fail. Your mines are crucial to the plan." Scarlet said.

This week, I changed our plan. My original plan was to become the bait and let them eliminate the opposing teams, all for the sake of staying unknown. But little by little, my mind changed from "Let us not attract attention to us," to "Nah, let's rock this joint!"

So, while they fight, I won't move an inch unless necessary. If our situation is dire, I'll step in and finish the battle in a flash. I don't care about exposing myself anymore, it's a bit tiring to hide myself from the public. Like, all the time I have to think about my actions, whether they would expose my real strength or not. It's just annoying.

The new plan is basically this; "Use pure brute force to defeat those weaker than us, and use dirty tricks and bombs to defeat those stronger than us. And if those options don't work, then I'll be the one to knock them to oblivion!"

I have to spend countless hours planning and planning how to hide myself from those rich disciples, for the fear that I might make trouble for Alexander. But, am I not strong enough already? My magic can beat every single disciple in the sect, even if I don't have much fighting experience. And a lot of my poison spells were designed to kill, even a nascent soul cultivator cannot resist my poisons, unless they specialize in the field of medicine or poison.

While I contradict myself, I still don't want for my siblings to be harmed from my actions. So I'll also try my best to live peacefully, as long as no one bothers me.

Anyway, so yeah, that's that.

As usual, Alice stayed silent, out of shyness I suppose.

Soon, we heard a hyped voice coming from everywhere.

"Yo, yo! Hello everyone! I am this tournament's proctor, Arsus Forwind! I will decide which team will fight, and I will add some commentary so that our audiences won't feel bored! Now, let's get this party started!!"

Wow… such a loud lad.

"Now, let us pick the first teams that will fight on the stage!" We all heard some balls rolling, and then stopped, "Hmm, interesting! The first fight will be the two strongest D-Class teams, the White Dragons and the Lords! Quite the overbearing names but I've seen more impressive names than these!"

Oh yeah, when we signed up for the tournament, the sect elders that were conducting the sign up asked us for our team name. Of course, not knowing we needed something like that, we just discussed for a moment and decided that our name was going to be…

Drum rolls please.

*Da* *Da* *Da*

The Heroes!!

Yeah… we picked that name. At least I didn't pick that name, the other 3 did. It was a majority vote for two names, that and my own team name, "The Dark Monarchs", which they found too 'edgy'

If my name-making skill is edgy, then what about that name? "The Heroes"? That's too cringy!

Anyway, enough about my pettiness.

We saw two teams of four go down the stage.

The Lords team all wore black capes over their black gi, and the White Dragons also wore capes over their white gi but they were all white.

All of them were in their teens. Sometimes, I feel like the sect specifically chooses youths younger than 20 to be their disciples. I mean, is that normal? Can't there be a middle aged person in there?

They all stood 20 meters from each other, staring intensely at their opponents.

"Now, don't be so violent towards your opponents. While killing is allowed in the tournament and rank battles, it is still frowned upon and can result with your rewards being taken away by the sect." The over-hyped voice said.

Wait… there were rewards?

I whispered to my team, "Are there any rewards from winning first place?"

They looked at me strangely, even Alice, and Scarlet said, "Yes, that's why the majority of people's objectives in participating in this tournament is not just to rank-up, it is also to receive the amazing rewards given to the top 10."

Curious, I asked her, "What're the rewards?"

She replied, "I think the first place rewards this time are pills, a rank 3 mortal-class weapon, a storage ring, and you can get to pick a good magic spell or a martial art in the C-Class library. It's pretty low, considering the fact that I already have a weapon with a higher rank than mortal."

Huh, well, that explains as to why there are so many disciples here.

The rewards are good, if I didn't have the [Shop]. Seriously, I can buy a stronger weapon there in a few minutes without doing any hard work.

"Hmm, coo—"

"Shh, the fight's starting," She said, shushing me.

I looked down on the stage, and voila, I saw their auras flaming up all of a sudden.

They charged at each other, each of them going against a single opponent.

They all traded many blows; kicks, punches, and even headbutts were used in this fight.

But I did notice that, in terms of fighting experience, they were all novice. All they did was use brute force, not a single move I saw in them was planned.

It's honestly quite boring, even when there were light shows here and there.

"Look at them go, folks! Kali, the sister of our sixth elder, is fighting the dark horse of this year, Tao!"

I watched the two curiously.

The green haired teen, Tao, is obviously stronger than the blue haired girl, Kali, in terms of physical strength. But the girl also used her flexibility to dodge every attack of Tao, but Tao kept his calm and never got infuriated. I can see that the girl is trying her best to land a blow on the boy, but she could only dodge as Tao rapidly attacked her with dozens of blows!

They were even in terms of skills but there could only be two outcomes in this kind of fight; either one of them gets exhausted, and the other if one of them has some sort of special ability. But seeing that they are intensely using martial arts to combat one another, it is hard to say whether they will use spells.

I almost forgot to update today because I was too busy playing minecraft with my brother.
