Time seemed to move quickly and darkness had already set in the kingdom of Valoria. Torches lit the palace hallways casting flickering shadows on the smooth walls of the palace. A candle placed by the nightstand lit Alexander's room dimly and one could only see the large bed at the center of the room. You had to strain your eyes to see the rest of the room.

At that time, a figure clad in royal robes opened the door and walked across the room. He placed his robe on the hanger and surveyed his surroundings. His large bead was neatly arranged and everything else in the room was in place. Alexander frowned as he had left the place different. Had she arranged the place? His eyes widened in realization.

Alexander had left for the king's office after having some fun torturing her. The office had been quite busy and Lord Richard left the moment the prince stepped in vicinity. He had tapped his shoulder and told him to pick up from where he had left. Little had Alexander known where Lord Richard had left, he would not have dared to show up in the King's office. As he looked at the comfy bed, he could not help but release a sigh of relief. The work in the office had really taken a toll on him and he felt tired. All he wanted for now was a good night's sleep.

Taking off his heavy attire, he let his body fall on the bed while he just lay there staring blankly at the ceiling. He closed his eyes slowly pondering over the events of the day. An image of her ran across his mind and a wide smile was registered on his face. She really affected his being. 'Just a few more days and she will be begging for my love,' he thought.

A sweet melody coming from the garden interrupted his thoughts and he shot his eyes open. They shone brightly under the dim light like those of a cat. Who was in the garden now? Alexander rarely visited the garden as he thought it was women staff. Since he was a boy, he never liked visiting gardens. Even in his own, he had made countable visits, just to check the condition. He could not help but wonder who was in there. But there was only one way to find out.

He wore his robes and stepped out of the room. The garden was located just beside his bathroom. Only a wall separated the two. The volume of the sound turned louder with each step and one could tell that it was a flute. The sweet melody resonated in the air creating a calm atmosphere that could carry anyone away.

Alexander turned the door slowly revealing the beautiful garden under the moonlight. A swing was located at the middle and a figure sat there as her fingers trained on the flute. Her hair blew in the wind giving her a fairy look that could not be matched. At that time, she looked like a goddess. Her beauty was unmatched.

Alexander's gaze fell softly on Isadora as her face glowed in the moonlight. The stars shined brightly with every second as if they were listening to her sweet melody. Her fingers trained delicately on the flute while her hair danced with the wind harmoniously. A crazed look formed on his face and he looked as if he had been spellbound by her melody. All thought left his mind as he stared at the beauty seated on the swing. It was truly a sight to behold!

The melody slowly came to a stop and Isadora withdrew the flute from her lips. She had not yet noticed his presence as she stared down at the flute, lost in her thoughts. She stared at the darkness with mixed emotions and her eyes turned watery.

"Your melody is very sweet," Alexander complimented after breaking from the reverie she had held him in. He began striding across the garden heading to where she was.

Isadora broke from her emotional turmoil after hearing his voice. She quickly composed herself and wiped the tears that were now threatening to fall any moment.

"May I?" Alexander asked after reaching where she was. He was pointing at the space on the swing.

Isadora nodded faintly and created some space for him.

"Where did you learn to play the flute?" Alexander enquired as he sat beside her.

"My mother taught me. She loved playing it for me when I was young." She said looking at her hands." She gave me this the night before she died. It is the only precious thing she left for me." She said looking at the flute that rested in her hands.

"Sorry for your loss. I didn't know that your mother was dead." He said, sounding remorseful. It was truly a sight to behold. The great and ever cold Alexander sympathizing with someone!

Isadora looked at him with mixed emotions. Confusion and hatred could be seen radiating in her beautiful face. "She was burnt to death by heartless members of a royal family." She said coldly staring at him in the eyes.

"What's with that look?" Alexander asked raising a brow. "Am I the one who did the sin?"

Isadora did not answer his question. Instead, she looked at the flute before extending her hand to him. "Do you want to try?" She asked, holding the flute at him.

Alexander stared at the object in her hand, amused. He had never played a flute his entire life. Seeing that she had given him the chance to play the flute that she so much valued, he could not let it pass. He took the flute from her hand and gave her a warm smile. The flute was coated with gold and it looked expensive. As Alexander studied it, he wondered where a maid could have gotten such a precious object. Who exactly was her mother?

Throwing the train of questions at the back of his mind, he placed the flute on his soft lips and blew it. He had no particular melody in mind so he played it inexperienced. The combination of random melodies created a disorganized melody and Isadora could not help but laugh. Alexander withdrew the flute with a defeated look and looked at her. She was even more beautiful when she laughed. Her laughter was genuine as she displayed her pearl white teeth. It was truly a sight to behold!

'I will make you laugh and be happy, every day,' he swore in his mind.
