Chapter 40(Ailith): I’m not a kid

Ailith returned just in time to watch the guards leave her room.

She sank onto the couch as soon as the door shut and glared at Alex. "You didn't tell me there was a princess."

He rubbed his temple. "I wasn't aware either."

Ailith huffed an annoyed breath. "Sure."

Alex returned her annoyance as he said, "Why would you hide it in such an obvious place? We nearly got found out."

It-He was referring to the weapons. "Gee, I didn't know people would be searching my room."

His eyes narrowed. "What about that time your maids walked into your wardrobe? You didn't think to find another place then?"

"I get it, alright?" Ailith bolted up from her seat. "I'll find a place to hide it now!" She stormed into her wardrobe and hauled the bag out of it's new hiding place. Ailith was almost at the door when Alex intercepted her path and snatched the bag out of her hands. "Are you an idiot? You'll get caught if you go out with that thing right now. Do it at night when everyone's asleep."

"Stop telling me what to do! I'm not a kid." Ailith snatched the bag out of his hands again and steering a path around him, stormed at the door.

"Then don't act like one." he grumbled.

That was the last straw. Furious, AIlith whipped herself around and swung a fist at him. She hit him square in the jaw.

Alex stumbled a step backward but otherwise seemed unaffected. This annoyed Ailith more and she threw several more punches. He took 5 more before he finally grabbed her arm on the 6th. "That's enough."

"Hmph" Ailith pried her wrist free from his grip and stalked down the hallway, making sure to slam the door closed on him.
