The Start of Classes

After waking up from sleep, Klaus got ready before taking in breakfast.

Next, Klaus went and registered for his alchemy class and got the details pertaining to the class. The alchemy class is only for a day per week and the first class starts the next day, which is also the day for the start of main classes for the first years.

The academy takes a hands-free approach while teaching the students.

Two days a week there would be theoretical classes and three days there would be combat classes. These are compulsory courses and would be held only in the morning. The optional classes would be scheduled in the afternoon of these five days or the entirety of the other two days.

The academy only makes sure that a student would attend the compulsory classes. The other classes aren't compulsory, so it depends on the student's wishes.

In their free time, students can do whatever they want to do, as long as they don't break the rules of the academy.

This was the attitude of the academy and it suited Klaus very much.

He needed to expand his knowledge and experience of alchemy production. He doesn't lack gold but he does need a lot of points if he wants to grow stronger by the end of the year.

He decided that he would sell the successful potions and pills from alchemy for gold to the first years. As a member of the top ten, he would receive a good number of points to live by but not all first-years have that luxury.

He only wanted to keep this for the next three months. Whatever he created would be sold for gold. After that, he would directly sell to the mission hall for points.

The difference is that selling to the mission hall would net you fewer points than a direct sale. Though it looks profitable by private sale, it would be a hassle and a waste of time.

Though the three months would be a hassle, it's not like he would succeed in making alchemical products on the first try. Most of these tries would end up in failure. It would be a miracle if he could whip something of quality in three months.

He only chose to fix the time for three months because he wouldn't make much and it is good to build a good reputation. If they see that his quality is good, they would be willing to spend their precious points.

After returning home, he meditated for a while.

He skipped lunch and directly went to dinner. Both Klaus and Liliana engaged themselves in the nightly activity until they felt tired and slept.

---

The first class Klaus attended is called, "Magic Theory", the compulsory class everyone had to attend.

Klaus came to the class a bit early hoping to get a seat in a better position. There are already a few in the class, who probably has the same idea to find a good seat.

The school and college in previous life told him that first benchers and last benchers would always attract the attention of the lecturer. He liked to enjoy nature whenever the class gets boring, and for that, a seat by the window would be fulfilling. He chose a window seat in the middle rows, which necessitates both requirements.

Though he didn't fear attracting attention, too much attention is never good. He also wanted to check his classmates' worth before getting drawn out by the lecturer.

One could say that the entrance test already did that but Klaus wouldn't agree with that fact.

The noble's children would have grown with nice supplements for growth and heavy training for years, which the commoner born lacks. Now everyone is at the academy, these low-rankers could easily catch up and gain the upper hand.

Moreover, he didn't want to be in the eyes of the lecturers, not until he could see which has more credit. Sometimes being a teacher's pet would have advantages but sometimes the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.

Within half an hour the class got packed. Everyone arrived in the class with more than half an hour to spare before the class begins.

Everyone started to chit-chat with fellows in their neighbor seats. Klaus was the same. The one in front of him is a girl named Aliya Von Forger. The ones beside and behind him are Mia and Mike, who are both commoners. He chatted with all three and he appreciated Aliya's manners as she didn't show the demeanor of a noble born while speaking with a commoner.

There are two more within his speaking distance but he didn't have much talk but learned their names, Orion and Thomas Von Dikewood.

When the bell rang which commenced the beginning of the class, a middle-aged man entered the class whose presence made the class silent on their own.

The man spoke in a clear and crisp voice, "First-year students, once again congratulations and welcome to the Imperial Academy. My name is Markus Von Amberson, a 5-Star Ranker. I'll be your professor for Magic Theory until you graduate".
