Chapter 17: The Chef Who Controls The Flame Part 2

"R-Ruby... Huh..." Shaking as he learns the identity of the Chef.

"Yeah? Is there something wrong?" (Ruby)

"(Wrong? Yeah. A BIG ONE! BECAUSE YOUR LITERALLY THE CRIMSON WITCH FOX THAT I WAS FIGHTING BEFORE I GOT HERE!)" As Pierrot shouted while in his thoughts.

"Umm Pierrot... I think you've been holding my hand too much?" (Ruby)

Pierrot quickly snap back to reality and quickly removed his hand on Ruby.

"I-I'm sorry! Did I hurt you?" (Pierrot)

"Ah... It's okay it's not too painful. But..." (Ruby)

Pierrot shivers as Ruby suddenly smiled.

"B-but What?" Pierrot stuttered.

"Will you teach me how to master my Fire spells?" (Ruby)

Pierrot tried to say no but after what happened and the "Price" he will receive... He accepted it but in total defeat.

"TAKE CARE OF ME MASTER!" As Ruby jumped in joy, finally getting what she wanted.

"But, we'll do it tomorrow. It's already nighttime and you need to be careful." (Pierrot)

"Ok then!" (Ruby)

Ruby then ran towards her booth store making Pierrot leaving all alone in the alleyway. Pierrot swayed his head and walked towards Ruby's booth. But the time he arrived it was already gone.

"That girl... He's too fast..." (Pierrot)

Pierrot then went to the nearest Inn and enter it. The bell rang indicating that there's a person coming in. He saw a girl, not less than 30 with droopy dog ears in the reception desk. He went to the reception and talked to the Inn lady.

"Good Evening good sir. Will you rent a room today?" (Inn Lady)

"Yes." (Pierrot)

"Please wait, I'll get your keys." (Inn Lady)

She went inside the curtains if there are rooms that are still available. After a few minutes, she went outside of the curtains, with a key on her hand.

"Your lucky sir. This is the only available room we have left." (Inn Lady)

"Then how much is it?" (Pierrot)

"That will be 5 coppers for one night." (Inn Lady)

Pierrot then rummage through his pockets and payed 1 silver coin.

"I'll be taking a month and a half here." (Pierrot)

"Thank you for staying in our Inn. I hope you had good night sleep." (Inn Lady)

The Inn Lady gave Pierrot the keys with a leather tag with a number written 003. Pierrot takes it and went upstairs.

As he was coming up to the stairs, he heard the bell rang outside the Inn. He peeked and to his suprise it was Ruby. She got to the reception and talked to her for a bit. The Inn Lady gave her a key and started to coming towards Pierrot's direction.

To avoid her, he quickly ran towards his room and hurriedly opened his door using the key. The key fits and Pierrot turned the key on the keyhole fast, he opened the door and locked the door.

"Phew... That was a close one." He went inside of his room on what will he discover there but got interrupted by a knock on the door. He opened the door and saw Ruby in front of him.

"Master?! What are you doing here?!" (Ruby)

"*Sigh... I'm planning to stay here for a month before I go to another town" (Pierrot)

"Oh... so that's why..." (Ruby)

They went in total silent, embarrassed on what's happening, he asked Ruby on why she was here knocking on Pierrot's door.

"Oh... you forgot your key in the doorknob" (Ruby)

"Oh right... Thank you Ruby." (Pierrot)

"Hehe... N-no problem..." Ruby blushed.

So... I'll head back to my room now, so... See you tommorow?" (Pierrot)

"O-ok." (Ruby)

Pierrot closed the door on his room and went to bed. Before he lied on his bed,Pierrot used his "Save" skill to save his progress and closed the screen. He look at the ceiling of his room and remembered the first time he got in this world.

Closing his eyes, he can still see the destruction and mayhem that happened in Pier's hometown.

In the cold, windy night, a town that was peaceful was swallowed by a sea of fire. Scorching flames that burned a huge house, the pathway full of gray rocks was covered with blood.

Pierrot tried to run but all of Pier's friend, the town folks and his parents showed up and screech in pain. Pierrot closed his ears, wishing he don't want to hear they're screams. Pierrot tried to turn around and saw Pier in front of him.

"P-pier?" Pierrot stuttered as he saw Pier in his soul form.

"Prats... AVENGE ME!" (Pier)

"AHHHHHHHHH!" Prats shouted on the top of his lung that made him awoken from his sleep.

Pierrot pant as he tried to remain calm. He looked on the window and it was daylight. He, then heard some stomping coming towards his door. He looked on his body and saw he haven't transformed yet into a beastfolk. He quickly used his skill just in time the door opened.

"Are you okay Sir? I heard someone screamed in one of the rooms?" (Inn Lady)

"Oh... That was my fault! I'm sorry." (Pierrot)

"Oh. But why are you sweating?" (Inn Lady)

"Umm... Because I had a nightmare." (Pierrot)

"Oh, well that explains! Well then I'll leave you be. if you need anything, just ask me." (Inn Lady)

"Thank you." (Pierrot)

The Inn Lady, bowed in a manner towards Pierrot and left.

"(Phew... I thought I got caught...)" (Pierrot)

Pierrot picked himself up and wore his armor and cloak and head out. He went to the stall if Ruby was selling there and she was! Pierrot headed towards the food stall and met Ruby, grilling the food.

"Master! Wait just a second! I'm grilling your skewers right!" (Ruby)

"Thanks, Ruby. After your done, meet me in the table." (Pierrot)

"Umu!" (Ruby)

Pierrot sat down on one of the chairs and waited for Ruby. After 1 minute, she arrived with freshly cooked beef skewers.

"Thank you for the meal Ruby." (Pierrot)

"Hihihi... I'm glad you like it." (Ruby)

Pierrot slowly ate some of the skewers while Ruby was just sitting there, looking towards Pierrot eating food.

"Umm, Master? Why did you call me here?" (Ruby)

"Oh... After I finish eating this food. I'll help you close early and we'll head out." (Pierrot)

Ruby's eyes shined as she jumped in joy.

"Just eat and I'll close the store." (Ruby)

Ruby quickly headed to her store and quickly cleaned up the store. While Pierrot happily ate his food. After finishing up, they went outside the town and went to the forest.

They ventured through the forest, Pierrot is in the front while Ruby is behind him just grabbing a piece of cloth on Pierrot's cloak. Pierrot suddenly stopped that made Ruby confused and asked;

"Master? Why did you stop?" (Ruby)

"This is a good place." (Pierrot)

"What?" (Ruby)

"Stay here and don't follow me from now." (Pierrot)

Pierrot went a few meter and stopped. He crouched and raised his hand. Suddenly, a large magic circle showed up on the ground making Ruby shocked.

"(Wind Pillar!)" (Pierrot)

A huge wind blows away the trees and monsters hiding in the trees and large grass. After a few seconds, the spell disappeared leaving a huge land with nothing but a patch of dirt.

"W-wow... So that's a Wind Spell..." (Ruby)

"Hey Ruby! Let's begin our training shall we?" (Pierrot)

Ruby smiled and quickly headed towards Pierrot as she finally be able to learn spells.
