Seth went to get Agnes back from the Base, but he could not find her. He was not strong enough to take over the Base all by himself. However, he tried to. He was late enough already, all because of Agnes.
She had known that he would do anything to find her. That was the reason she imprisoned Seth in the mansion with a spell she created. In order to break free from a spell, it was important to know the structure of the spell. Agnes put a spell on every entrance and exit of the mansion and himself so he could not move at all.
