JASMINE
The lights hurt my eye as I try to open them and the more I tried, the worse it got. I turned and tossed and it suddenly clicked, the bed I was on was quite comfortable and I knew it could be better or worse. This could be a trap.
Ignoring the hurt from the light, I opened my eyes immediately and tried to take in the view of everything I was seeing but it did not help. The only thing in the room was the bed with the blue sheets I was on. Every other thing was empty and suspicious. The room was also painted gray and with the smell of dust, it was obvious the place had not been used in years, most likely.
I touched my body and realized I was cleaned up and in another piece of clothing, shirt and joggers that were bigger than me and still smelled of someone who wasn't me. Surprisingly, the wood scent on the shirt made me calm but I couldn't help but wonder who it was.
I tried to move and get off the bed but it was only hard, my head did not make me feel stable in any form and small movements made me feel light headed so I remained on the bed and just waited for the owner of the room to come on. They were probably nice if they wanted it to be that I was good and slept well.
The only thing I remembered was being on the small bed in the laboratory and some noises after that but I could not attribute it to anything and it got me thinking. I heard familiar voices in my subconscious but I also thought they were the doctors and I was just thinking about things that were not real.
"I see you are awake. How do you feel?" The first thing I noticed were his eyes and I had to admit that I had never been a fan of them and I was not sure I was going to be.
All the light headedness I felt at the sight of him flew out the minute I saw him and I only wanted to get out of the place.
"What are you doing here? I need to leave this place this minute." I argued.
He tried to resist me but I was already on my feet and arm-crossed before he could stop me. He stood to face me and that was when I noticed how much taller he was than me. I had to look up at him and his eyes still stared into my soul. I had to admit that I loved the color of his eyes and they would have been a beauty to always stare at if he was not what he was, an asshole.
"You did not ask me how you got here? Why do you hate me so much? We have never had any encounters until school and you've always pushed me away since then."
"Oh, really? You're shocked? It's because you are an awful person and I never want anything to do with you again. Just let me go."
"Again?" I pushed him away with the little strength I had as he got closer. "What do you mean 'again'?" He asked again. "Had we met before now?"
"You don't remember?" I scoffed. "Do not lie to me. There is absolutely no way you do not remember."
He rubbed his hair, confusion written all over him. "There is actually no way I would remember. There are a lot of things I do not remember, it seems. For example, how did you get to my pack? When? Have you always been a member and I did not know? That's quite impossible seeing as I know every single wolf in the pack, even the ones that have passed."
I stared back at him, hoping to see it in his eyes that he was lying but he stared back at me with innocent eyes, it was not hard to believe he was saying the truth. The more I tried to deny it, the more obvious it was that Nathan may have not been the bad guy I made him out to be.
"You do not honestly remember?" I asked again, sitting on the bed and watching as he sat close to me.
I looked at him in pity and suddenly felt bad for how I had treated him all along. He had probably been miserable about everything and wondering why I wanted nothing to do with him.
"I am sorry for being mean to you. I did not know you do not remember."
He smiled gently at me. "It's okay. I would like to know if that is not too much trouble for you?"
I smiled back at him. "No, it isn't. What do you want to know?"
"Start with why you are in my pack and why I caught you in that unforgivable scene with my pack doctors?"
"Your father." I felt stings in my heart as I tried to recount.
"My father?" He asked back, confused.
"Yeah, when I was little, just the age when I turned, it changed my whole life. I was little and did not know the dynamics of a pack and because I did not grow up in a stable one but somehow, my parents found your pack and for some reason, they loved it here and they stayed. It was interesting actually because I had a good childhood too. I remember playing with you, Finn and the other kids when I was little. I never forgot your green eyes, they are quite distinct and I have a good memory, I still do not know if that is a cause or a blessing."
He chuckled. "I see. How does my father come into all of this then?"
I sighed. He was his father's son and I was not sure turning them against each other was the best thing to do.
"I don't know if telling you that will change anything. The deed has been done and for many years now."
He held my hands. "I want to hear it all."
