CHARITY EVENT (I)
CHAPTER THIRTY SIX
Despite the slight pain she felt on her neck and the sweetly immense pain she felt between her sore legs, Kate rose up early the next morning to rush to the hospital but not before a little struggle to untangle Stephan's arms wrapped around her like a mother squid and she even had to leave a clothing of hers atop the pillow she replaced as herself so he could keep inhaling her scent. She wrote a little note and left it on his nightstand for him to notice when he woke up. The note read;
Good morning Mate, I hope you had a lovely night cause I did? I know you might not like this but I still want us to keep our union a little hidden. Give me a little time so I would be able to open up to you on the reasons I could not accept you at first. Have a lovely day and you snored in my ear the whole night. X's and O's.
She sneaked back to her room successfully and had a long and refreshing bath in her bath tub. As she scrubbed her skin and was about to cleanse the area she ached the most, she remembered how Stephan had said he loves her over and over in her ears last night as he rode her numerously to immeasurable heights. She tried to push the thoughts far from her mind as she came out of her bathroom to get dressed. She selected a turtle neck to cover the hickeys, love bites and most especially Stephan's mark she bore on her neck. She could not detect what it would form as it was yet to heal but without doubt in her she knew it was going to be a beautiful mark.
She complimented her brown turtle neck with a black high waist palazzo and she let her hair down. She rocked her look with a pair of black boots and she loved what she looked like in the mirror. There was this elegant and confident look she exuded and she was…she was radiating but would Kate Katrikan agree?! Never!
She saw herself as normal, as usual…
She sprayed an overwhelming amount of perfume and body spray on herself before she stepped out of her room. She did not want to encounter anyone, especially a certain someone…Stephan Stone but as she came out of her room, Nanny Freya caught her by the hand and pulled her to the kitchen.
"I know what you have been doing…" said Nanny Freya and Kate's heart skipped three beats in succession.
'Damn! Nanny Freya has discovered…no way out of this Kate!' thought Kate.
"I can explain Nan… " started Kate but Nanny Freya cut her off. "How do you want to explain the fact that you have been avoiding my cookies just so you could eat those from that wacko restaurant. I saw the empty packs yesterday in the trash so you can't get out of this. Today, I would make sure you eat them before me! Now sit here and take this" said Nanny Freya as she handed Kate the box of cookies and a cup of warm milk.
Kate's heart rate returned back to normal. What a fright Nanny Freya gave her there and she didn't have anything to do with the empty packs of cookies that Nanny Freya said she ate but she said nothing as she collected the warm milk and box of cookies. She placed them on the counter before drawing a chair from underneath and settling on the wooden chair.
"Good morning Nanny Freya" greeted Beta Stephan as he entered the kitchen shirtless and headed towards the fridge for a bottle of water. Poor Kate was faced with the person she was trying to avoid. Coming in contact with such hotness coupled with the activities of last night, she began to stare.
"I knew I smelt something yummy" said Beta Stephan as he stared at his mate who had the audacity to leave such a note after such a night.
Kate coughed as she knew what Beta Stephan was not so innocently trying to refer to.
"Good morning to you son. You sound chirpy this morning Stephan, you must have a good night" commented Nanny Freya.
"It was more than a good night Nan, I had the night of my life!" said Nanny Freya.
"Hmmmm! Male lycans…always hot blooded. Seeing how you are looking this morning, you must have spent the night with a she wolf who must have been pleading at your feet" said Nanny Freya as she rinsed some vegetables.
So Stephan still brought other she wolves to the mansion?
'Are you jealous?' asked Dr Kate's wolf.
'No I'm not and shut the hell up!' replied her inner self.
"This she wolf was actually pleading on something else" said Stephan with a nice smile on his lips and Kate could not take another inferred word again and she immediately jumped to her feet.
"Are you done child?" asked Nanny Freya.
"Yes, I am done. Thanks Nan" said Kate and she kissed Nanny Freya on both cheeks.
"You are wearing heavy perfume this morning child. Are you sure it would be convenient for your patients?" asked Nanny Freya.
As Kate was about to respond, Alpha Ralph entered into the kitchen with Karen by his side and an invitation card in her hand.
"Good day Alpha! Good day Karen!" Everyone in the kitchen greeted.
"Good day everyone!" chirped Karen in a joyous voice.
"Wow! New look Stephan!" complimented Karen at Stephan's shirtless look and Ralph darted knives through his eyes at Stephan.
His mate had never told him that!
Ralph collected the invitation from Karen and handed it to Stephan..
"This is an invitation card to a charity event in the land of humans. You are to bring a date!" said Alpha Ralph.
"Dr Kate would be my date. I presume you are less busy Kate?" asked Stephan as he looked at her to defile his request.
"Of course! I can make time"
"Perfect! We would go get our gowns today or tomorrow" said Karen to Dr Kate.
"No qualms"
"Great! Is it just me or there is a certain glow to our very own doctor this morning. It is like something is different about you" said Karen and Kate felt like the earth beneath her should open so she could be sealed forever in its depth.
"I thought to mention it but I know Kate to be sometimes sensitive so I left it. I am glad someone has mentioned it…" said Nanny Freya.
"Oh please! I am still very much the same and if you would excuse me, I am almost late for work" said Kate in a bid to give an excuse so she could run away and calm her heart that would soon leave its cage.
