Chapter 44: Makenzie Makes a Move

“You’re sure you can handle him?” Bennett’s voice rang thought out Stella’s Victorian home. He was more screaming than talking on the phone to the west coast alpha, Makenzie’s dad.

Dana shook her head knowingly in Stella’s direction. “One way or another that shifter is dead.” She said. A bright smile flashed across her face.

Dana didn’t mince words.

Not that any of them liked Makenzie. Not after all the damage he’d done. He killed Dana’s brother. He attacked Bennett’s brother. Attacked Stella, kidnapped Stella.

“Have you thought about what you are wearing?” Dana asked, changing the subject so fast, Stella felt like she had whiplash.

She looked down at what she was wearing. “Why what’s wrong with this?”

“No. Silly. I mean for the ceremony.” Dana said.

“I honestly haven’t thought much about that at all.” Her hands fluttered around her sides. “Should I?” She asked in earnest. “I mean, with all that is going on, do you think the timing is right?”
