In the evening, Leo went out without even saying goodbye and left me with Mateo.

"What the hell have you done to Leo?" He asked, coming into the library, "he's fuming."

"I called him out on his bullshit... again," I muttered, "that man can't take criticism."

"I thought you guys were kinda like... okay now?"

"What on earth gave you that impression?" I asked, "recently we've just had bigger fish to fry than remembering all the things we hate about each other. And he's realized I'm going to argue with everything he does wrong and so he's decided to hide things from me."

"Sounds healthy," Mateo said.

"Healthier than me staying quiet and letting him do whatever he pleases," I said, turning the page of my book, "I made it clear to him from day one that I do not back down and I am standing by that. He'll get tired of fighting with me eventually and change his ways."

"I've known Leo nineteen years, Ella," Mateo said, "he's just as stubborn as you."
