Because of the test-like nature of the dinner, the Shadow King and Aldous sat with the rest of the visitors at their table. Even Cara and Luxe were there, not knowing what to look forward to. After all, the Shadow King just didn't want people saying bad things about his few children… causing him to invite someone over to cook for the banquet.
As for Darius's cooking skills, they really didn't know if it was worth Nicholai's smugness. It's just that even Enzo was waiting for this.
"They're here." The Shadow King let the servers walk in with their trolleys to lay the food down on the table. It's just that… from the very first second the door opened, everyone had already looked over. It was not because the servers were smiling… or that Darius was not among them to eat.
