They could go back to sleep at their own accord, of course. But both Mitch and Kirstie were too nervous to fall back asleep. And too terrified that one of them would be sent away to even wait for their Alphas in the same room. Basically the whole pack was separated besides the two Alphas. Scott kissed Mitch's forehead one last time before meeting Avi by the front door. Scott opened the door and mumbled, "I do not want to do this." Avi pushed past him. "Neither do I."
