"Excuse me?" I say, walking closer to where Kiara is standing. "I did not hear you clearly."

"I said you risked the lives of our horses all because you would no listen to me." Kiara repeats.

Bryan keeps staring at us. From his stance, I can see that he does not want to interfere.

"I think you have some things to say to me, Kiara. I am listening." I tell her.

"You always dismiss me, you do not value my opinion, and you have no idea how costly that can be!" Kiara says.

My face falls immediately, and I can hear and feel the hurt in her voice.

"Could you state instances in which I have dismissed you?" I ask her.

"Remember the time you got one of the maids to serve you, and she later poisoned you?" She asks me.
