The Alpha's Human Luna

Nancy Neo was a wanderer, oh yes a restless soul drifting through cities and towns, never tethered to one place for long, she was like a tree with no root. When her family chose to settle in Akin City, a place whispered to be a sanctuary of peace and promise Nancy hoped, for once, to find a semblance of belonging. But beneath Akin City’s polished front lay shadows deeper than she could imagine. Nancy’s days were ordinary, her nights lonelier still, as she wandered the unfamiliar streets, yearning for something she couldn’t name. Little did she know, the modern world she inhabited held an ancient secret. Among the greatest of these: werewolves lived among them, hidden in plain sight, their true nature masked by human guise. One fateful evening, curiosity drew Nancy beyond the city’s borders into the wild fringes of the land. The air was electric under a full moon’s gaze, and the forest seemed to pulse with an energy both intoxicating and forbidden. There, in a hidden glade, she stumbled upon a sight that would alter her life forever—a pack of werewolves celebrating beneath the argent glow, their howls a haunting fear that sent shivers racing down her spine. She thought she was invisible, cloaked by the shadows of the trees. But the pack’s alpha a figure of raw power and grace caught her scent. As the alpha’s gaze locked onto hers, Nancy froze. The breath she had been holding escaped in a startled gasp as recognition struck like lightning. It was Baby, her lover. The truth slammed into her like a chillwave, pulling her into a whirl of disbelief, fear, and heartbreak. Baby wasn’t just a werewolf—he led them. The man she had trusted, the one she thought she knew, was a creature of the night. Caught at the crossroads of two worlds, one fragile and familiar, the other untamed and feral. Nancy was forced to confront the impossible. Could she reconcile her love for Baby with the monstrous truth of his existence? But Akin City held more secrets, and Nancy was about to uncover her own. Beneath the surface of her prosaic life lay a destiny she never anticipated, a path sprinkled with danger, desire, and a power she never knew she possessed. In a city that promised safety, Nancy would learn that peace is an illusion and sometimes, the greatest threats are the ones that lurk within. The moon whispers secrets to those who listen, but beware some truths are meant to remain hidden.

The car accident

Nancy's POV

10 months later.

The pain under my skin finds its way into my dreams, awakening me. I had barely managed to close my eyes, the pain has become worse than ever. Dragging myself out of bed to the shower to pour water on my skin that was burning.

I come out of the shower by the sound of the doorbell. My mum and dad are on their usual trip. The poison has already started to spread all over my body, leaving red patches on my skin. Everyone is keen on finding me a cure. I grab my morning coat and toddle to the door.

Two policemen stood by the door. One was Betty's father which gave me a sad smile the moment I open the door. "Hello, officers what brought you guys here? Both my parent are not in the house at the moment," I pout trying to read their reaction, was my dad in any kind of trouble?

"Miss Neo, um..?" he paused.

"Is everything okay officer?" I rumble. Just then I saw Betty rushing out of Roland's car as Roland parked the car.

"Pa, let me tell," Betty said as she stand in front of the two officers.

"Tell me what Betty? what is going on?" I murmured.

"Officers, we will bring her down to the station you can leave now," Roland informed the policemen as they turn to leave yet none of them is telling me anything.

"Let's go inside Nancy," Betty muttered as she drags me inside.

"Can any of you tell me what is going on here?" I whimpered.

"Nancy, your parent was involved in an accident, and your dad…" Betty whispered. I interrupted her before she could even finish telling me what happen.

"What!" I yelled. "And why are you guys now telling me? Forget it, which hospital are they? Um silly me the town hospital of course. Wait for me let me grab some of their clothes they might need…." I muttered, still in shock. Roland and Betty hug me in tears. I hold back my tears which were threatening to pour.

"I will go change so we can leave for the hospital" I sniffed as I pulled my sick body to my bedroom. I quickly change into a pair of jeans and a pullover. It was looking big on me too bad my dad is not here to make me change.

I hurried downstairs to see Roland and Betty looking tense.

"I'm ready now, let go," I hissed as I rush to the car. My two dear friends were left speechless and could only follow me quietly.

We drove to the town hospital my mother was still receiving treatment, and she looked fine. When I asked to see my father everyone was quiet.

"Why don't you go in there and see how your mother is doing?" the doctor in charge whispered trying to invade my question.

"What room is my dad in?" I was starting to get angry. I'm been treated like a child and I'm already 18 years of age.

"Nancy, calm down," Roland pouts. "She is only trying to help?" he whimpered.

In the hallway, I spotted Mary-Anne. "Why is she here?" I holler.

"Please leave," Betty whispered when she saw Mary-Anne approaching us.

"I will take you to your father," said Mary-Anne. Even though I still can't explain the relationship she has with my father I know for a fact that she cares about him.

I followed her even though everyone tried to stop me. "Nancy, do not listen to her," Betty warned. I paid no attention to her words and stridden behind Mary-Anne.

She stopped in front of the hallway leading to the morgue, fold her arms, and stepped aside.

I raise my head up again to see what was written on the signpost.

"Morgue?" I asked in a quivering voice. She repeated my words as if she couldn't wrap her head around what I just asked.

"Yes, the morgue, that is where your father is," she finally answered with a feeling of deep sorrow in her voice.

"Is this some kind of joke?" I asked stepping back and leaning on the wall for support. Baby, was right there to hold me when I trembled. It seems Betty or Roland called him over.

"See for yourself," Mary-Anne shrugs.
