Lucas had braced himself for whatever Clyde was about to do to him, but seeing Ryley defend him left the man once again perplexed, utterly baffled as to what Ryley was thinking.
He had betrayed him, why did Ryley still protect him like this?
"Lucas, go and wait outside for a bit." Ryley gave the order, which Lucas reluctantly obeyed after a brief moment of hesitation.
Now that only the two of them were left in the room, the blond calmly took the Alpha's hand and led him to the sofa. "Why did you come here?"
Clyde pulled the corner of his lips into a bitter smile, his thumb gently caressing Ryley's damp cheek. "You're sad. That's more than enough of a reason."
