Chapter 29

"Have you found anything useful?" Kraig asked Kendrick, while trying to read as fast as possible the book in his hand.

"No…" Kendrick said, sighing and resting his head on his hands, on top of the desk. "That is fucking annoying!" 

"Language!" Nora said, hissing. She heard Kendrick and Kraig talking about the tree. She didn't ask anything, for they didn't talk to her and she decided not to intrude. But then, Kendrick started to get later and later at home - they were living together, already - and she wasn't like that at all!

So, one night, she waited for him, sitting on the sofa and when he entered, he almost had a heart attack. 

'You look like a ghost!', he said, hand on his chest. 

'Where were you?' her voice was serious, ice tone and her expression was dreadful. 

'I was helping Kraig…' he answered, without giving details and trying to go upstairs, but Nora stepped in front of him, blocking the path.
