After all they’d been through, the ominous curse didn’t even daunt the Crestas and the Sinsworths. Thessalia and Dirge spent the better part of an hour planning the mission with the rest of the family while the children were tucked in their beds. Then, the parents in the group had an enormous desire to check on their children.
Dane wished them all the best of luck and Lilia and the other witches cast spells of protection. Then, another shifter Alpha who had attended the feast sought out Dane. Thessalia recognized Alpha Jude of the Silverpaw Pack next door. He asked after Drannor, but Thessalia read him. He was struggling–she knew he’d lost his mate tow years ago. Dane, Kyon, and Jiro walked away with him on the pretext of briefing him because he had helped fight the Dark Goddess.
Clutching Thessi’s hand, Dirge said to her after the meeting broke up, “Before you go to sleep, I want to show you something.”
