The agent of chaos

Some worlds have its fate to be worst than death itself, what's better than a little chaos to put things back together? Talia earned her reincarnation and system through her past life, she was giving a mission to change this new world's fate, will she be able to do so, starting from scratch and with all the obstacles in her way? A/N: Read the tags, leave a comment if you like it so far, constructive criticism is always welcome to help me improve, though don't be too harsh, this is the first novel I've ever written. Ps: The cover is temporary until I get something better.

The Plan

[Are you ready?]

'Tell me everything you know'

[Okay, so there are three main incidents in this event, you'll have to find a way to stop, avoid or keep them from happening altogether, this is an easy one since you won't actually have to go up against anyone, just a chain reaction kind of event]

'Perfect, it would be way too weird to fight random adults at 3 years old, it would attract way too much attention'

[Yes, so, this will be an actual event to promote new technologies focused on clean energy mixed with magic, they'll have all kinds of trinkets to clean water, mark a perimeter to keep animals away, tiny little solar powered devices that can fit in your hand and power your whole house and so on, it will be a distance of approximately 2 hours away from the town you just checked. Since these scatter small towns are their targeted market, they kind of find a location that's near as many as they can. Anyways you can probably tell your parents you've heard about it in town in a few weeks and start bugging them to bring you there]

'I guess that's as good a way as any, better than trying to sneak out and steal a carriage or something'

[Yes, I doubt you can even drive a carriage, let alone escape your parents, steal one, and get away, also knowing you, you would probably trip right in front of the horses, scare them and get trampled to death]

'Oh, wow, that's… Anyways, what are the three incidents?'

[The first one is an explosion, one of the solar stones will get super charged by some teenagers competing over who can give their stone more charge, kind of like trying to see who has more power, but since they're already charged plus the stone keeping all that energy from leaking harmlessly into the atmosphere, it doesn't really take that long until it super charges, blows up and kills the kids]

'This is getting dark so fast, how do I stop the explosion? Assuming I can't stop their game, you know how teenagers can be stubborn, if I tell them to stop, they'll ignore me as being a random spilled baby, if I steal it they could easily get other stones there, safest bet will be containing the explosion so it explodes but doesn't kill them'

[For that you'll have to use your fire, you'll have to spend the year working on compressing, decompressing and on dissipating the compressed energy safely, it will take a good amount of practice, but with your intermediate fire magic on level 3, you can start experimenting with this safely]

'That's why you didn't told me about it beforehand?'

[Yes, it's a very difficult, very complicated ability to train and you couldn't have been doing it safely before]

'Okay! Compress the explosion, dissipate it safely, next incident'

[Someone steals an unfinished prototype that basically does photosynthesis at the level of 1000 trees. That means it absorbs around 48.000 pounds of carbon dioxide and exchanges that for oxygen in the period of one year.]

'That's a lot, I think, sounds like a lot, what do they use it for'

[Biological weapons]

'Uugh'

[I know. The third incident is a little related to this one actually, the scientist that made that prototype has a little daughter that will be there with him, when his project gets stolen, he becomes frantic looking for it, his daughter falls in a lake nearby and drowns, screaming for help, which he doesn't hear, stuck in his little world, too worried about his prototype, someone does find her a little later and manages to revive her though through cpr and some good old magic]

'So, contain an explosion, stop a theft, and keep a little girl from falling into the lake?'

[Yes]

'It's really easier than I thought'

[It is the earliest of the events, if you manage to stop it fully, many of the following ones won't happen, and you'll have a good 7 years of peace after it, it's a slow start, but it picks up later on. Train, prepare and enjoy the moments of peace while they last, you'll be missing them sooner than you think]

'That's not ominous at all'

[It's the truth, if you fail, there will be up to three events a year though, and many more after 7 years until it gets to a point that no matter what you do, the end will be inevitable]

'Again with the ominous. Got it, if I am to have a shot at succeeding in this mission, I can't mess up this first one'

[Exactly, it doesn't seem much, but the consequences can be perilous]

'Oookay, I'll have to find a way to get away from my parents when we get there, that's gonna be complicated'

[And all the three incidents happen under one hour in between them]

'Are they really far away from each other?'

[Not by much, but still, your legs are tiny, you really need to perfect the ability needed to dissipate the explosion, to work as fast as you possibly can]

'You're right. I think I have something in mind already, we can discuss it some more later though'

[Okay, Talia]

"Morgana sweetie, wanna train some skills with mama?" Morgana looks down at her from where she was flying around the tree in the backyard.

"Yes, mama" The little blue and purple dragon flies down to her.

"Okay, baby, so, you know how I can control fire and make it move and dance in all those funny moves?"

Morgana nods.

"Today I was thinking we could try to see if you can do the same"

[What are you doing Talia?]

'She's a dragon, if she can manipulate fire instead of only produce it, maybe she can help with the explosion, if we can work together, we might be done faster'

[I'm not sure that'll work. It's unprecedented in this world, but technically so are you, it's worth a try at least, she is your familiar and gets some benefits from the bond, go ahead]

'You did say anyone could learn any kind of magic, maybe it's just a little harder for them, or they never thought to learn it'

[I agreed already, no need to keep trying to convince me]

Talia smiles 'Sorry, got a little carried away there'

Talia goes inside the house and brings back a candle. "Can you please light this candle for me sweetie?"

Morgana lights the candle and looks at Talia curious about what she's planning.

"Okay, so I brought this candle so you can try to move the fire"

"But I alweady have fire mommy" She tilts her head in curiosity.

"That you do, but you're going to have to put all your focus on moving the fire, and if you're splitting your focus between creating it and moving it at the same time, it will be harder for you to learn"

"Okay" Morgana puts all her focus on the little flame and tries to move it for a couple minutes.

"It's not working mama" she says disappointed.

"Hey, don't worry, it's just like flying, remember how many times it didn't work, and we had to keep trying over and over again? Now you can fly all over the sky with no problem, right? It will take some work, but you can do it, I believe in you, you've got this baby girl"

Morgana nods with a serious face and keeps trying.

Talia sits back against the tree and starts absorbing the sun's heat into a small ball of fire.

[Good, now keep adding heat without letting the ball get any bigger]

Talia starts sweating from the heat and struggles, she keeps adding more and more heat without letting any of it dissipate, the little ball of fire starts getting more and more unstable.

[Talia, let go! Dissipate that NOW!]

The little ball starts shaking as Talia starts slowly taking the heat from it until it's only a tiny little flame and then it disappears completely.

[Good, really good, you were steady, you dissipate that with no problem. The compression needs a lot of work though, you'll have to compress an actual explosion, not a little ball of fire you are making yourself on your own time. That was really close to exploding in your hand]

'I know, I felt that, it was really draining too' she lies back against the tree. 'More draining then when I spend the whole day practicing with all the elements'

[Yeah, you might need to raise your Stamina, but this is good for that, though you might only be able to try that once a day at the moment]

Talia nods watching Morgana. 'Do you think she'll do it'

[I think she'll try really hard and the practice alone can end up helping her with her own fire]

'I think she'll do it, she's just a baby and all, but she works really hard and tries her best, she'll get it'

[She might just get it]

Talia gasps and smiles. 'You agreed!!!'

[Didn't I already agree it was possible earlier? what's the big deal?]

'I just asked you directly and you were all dodgy about it, so it surprised me, but if you agree that means it's 100% possible. She totally got this'

[I… That's not how it… You know what? Fine, she totally got this, it's just a matter of time]

'I KNEW IT' Talia smiles triumphantly and they spend another two hours debating the plan and watching Morgana practice until it's time for dinner.
