The Last of His Kind

Human corpses fill the ground as if they are all in slumber they can no longer awaken from, all anyone can hear is screaming, crying, and panting from all directions. Humans are bloodied ranging from family and friends that they used to love and cherish. There was one family amongst all that didn't panic though as all others were during the demon attack, they had a son with them not yet to be named. The parents had hidden their son so he would not be found and killed like the rest of the humans had.

1-year had passed the child had grown into an infant child, raised by a demon that had fled during the attacks and had found the boy screaming and crying as he had been left without parents, and no home to return to. The demon was worried about taking the child in at first but once he had seen the baby's face he had instantly fallen in love with it even though he knew, he could be killed if the other demons had seen him with a human.

Another year had passed the child was now two years of age able to mutter words, but not able to speak full sentences yet. The demon was glad that he and the child had not been caught yet. The demon seemed like he knew something about the child though that he did not want to tell him until he reached a certain age.

Seven years later the child no longer an infant nor a baby able to speak full sentences and respond to questions, was taught how to hunt, cook, and use simple magic. He knew how to use only one type of magic though, illusion magic.

The demon thought that the child was finally ready to hear what he had to say.

The demon grabbed his shoulder and said to him, "You are very special and I want you to make me a-"

The boy interrupts him as he was about to tell him, " Am I really special though?"

The demon, "Yes you are but that is beside the point what I am trying to tell you is that you have the power to take the power from the foes that you kill."

He responds, "What exactly does that mean?"

"It means anything, the possibilities are limitless."

Djevel responds with hesitation, "Does that mean I could make our life together better?"

The demon responds in confusion "Why would you say something so silly hahaha "

Djevel thought to himself. "Why would he act like that after I asked a question? Very strange I'll have to ask him about it later."

As they finished talking they heard a loud thud from the front door. The demon looked worried, he shoved Djevel down a hatch that led to a system of hidden tunnels that no one knew about. Djevel walked for thirty minutes straight confused as to why he had been thrown down there, all he could hear though were sounds of yelling and fighting as if something was happening that he was not to know about. Djevel goes to sleep...

Five hours have passed and Djevel has woken up and proceeded to take a piss on the tunnel wall,.now all that can be heard from upstairs is silence no more sounds of yelling or fighting. Djevel walks back the way that he came, another thirty minutes have passed still no sounds to be heard just complete and utter silence surrounds him.

Djevel climbs a ladder leading back up to the house unable to push the hatch up, he instead considers punching out the hatch. Five minutes have passed still no end in sight, Djevel feels a sensation but just pushes it aside and continues his attempts at punching out the hatch.

After another twenty-five minutes, Djevel has finished punching out the hatch. He enters the house from the hatch hole that he had just punched out. Djevel smelt something weird, something he had never smelt before, to his surprise it was his father's burning corpse. Djevel made a face of disgust and barfed on the floor. Djevel ran to his body, after barfing... Djevel trying to put out the fire but seeing no end to it had to eventually give up. Djevel cried and barfed for over ten minutes straight.
