Amber:
Yesterday night I had a rather disturbed sleep which led to a morning headache and now I am struggling with a headache but I can't miss office.
I feel like I would pass out anything, and have already had two cups of coffee to ease my pain and quickly rush to the washroom and take a quick shower, and then I am ready to go to the office with my head feeling like a dumbbell.
I walk down my apartment and go to a nearby cafe, pick another cup of latte hoping this would ease the pain and hop into a cab. Once I reached office and as usual, I was early as compared to other people I start surfing through the mails, flagging the once important and deleting the others because at this point of time that is the only thing I could do.
Once done I walk into the cafeteria and get some scrambled eggs and tea this time and after my food brake I take a painkiller the doctor gave me and I get back to work. Reading through contracts, fixing meetings, and other things when Javour comes in.
"Morning"
"Morning Amber"
"How was your weekend"
"Oh fine but dropped in to say we have a meeting with a delegate of the Smith Industries and as you know its quite an important deal so could you join in?"
"Ya sure. When is it?"
"In an hour"
"Ok I will meet you in the conference room", I said showing a thumbs up. As he felt I looked at the watch it was already 10 meaning the meeting was at 11 and would continue till lunchtime and may even go beyond. I mentally thanked myself for having my breakfast.
The time passed faster than expected and soon I found myself in the conference hall sitting beside Javour. My work was to take points and match them with the contract. A normal person would have done the matching later and negotiate but I was blessed with a brain that remembered everything it read. So, yes I remember the whole contract and continuously passed the contradictory points to Javour who questioned the delegate accordingly.
Soon the meeting came to an end and the deal was done.
After the handshakes and necessary formal share of dialogues, the delegate and his team left Javour turned to me and was saying something but the world around me seemed to go blur. I could see his lips moving but couldn't interpret anything, neither could I hear a thing, more appropriately anything I heard seemed like noise to me.
My head was throbbing with pain, I felt weak I wanted to sit somewhere but I didn't have the energy to walk to the nearest chair.
I sat on my knees on the floor holding my head in my hands and suddenly the world went black.
Javour:
I turned to talk to Amber as soon as the delegate left and I saw her awkwardly staring at nothing in particular.
"Amber, Amber you ok?", she didn't reply. All she did was she took her head in her hands and sat down on her knees, and before I could get her seated on a chair she started losing her posture she was falling on the ground.
"Shit she blacked out", I told myself.
I picked her body and placed it on the chair and called an ambulance and the next person I called was Zander because Zach could hardly do anything from miles away.
As soon as the ambulance came they took her limp body on a stretcher and carried her to the ambulance. I followed the ambulance in my car.
I was dead scared. I knew Zach since I was a kid and I didn't like the thought of what he would do if he lost Amber and the pack couldn't lose such a nice luna.
When I heard she was a human I was rather doubtful but working with her I realised one shouldn't ever doubt the moon goddess.
On reaching the hospital they took her body to the emergency room and I was advised to wait outside.
Soon Zander and his mate Beth arrived.
"Did you inform Zach?", is what Zander asked
"Uh no not yet, I didn't get time", I said coming out of my trance
"Don't. The rogue situation has been resolved and he might return soon, don't inform him already. It might just because of dehydration or something. She was sick over the past few days."
"Ok", is all I could mutter
"Did the doctor say how is she?", this time Beth spoke, till now she was blankly starring at the door of the emergency room.
"Nothing as of yet" and as soon as I replied the doctor came out.
"Hi, I am Dr.Bell. Amber had come earlier on Friday and I had got her to do CT scans and everything seems fine, it is a simple case of over-stressing", she said with a reassuring smile.
"Oh", Beth sighed with relief, the tension on Zander's face was not gone yet.
"And I suggested she stays in the hospital for a day or two under observation."
"Ya that's-", Beth was cut by Zander, "Doc you would be knowing Dr. Johnson right?"
"Ya ya he is an excellent doctor", she replied in acknowledgment
As much as I remember Dr. Johnson was Zander's pack doctor and he practiced in the human world to maintain contacts.
"He is a family friend, so I can contact him to keep Amber under his observation, in my house."
"But Mr.Smith are you sure?"
"Yes, I can arrange all the equipments, it's just that Amber doesn't react to hospitals well."
"Ok, then I will get the discharge papers ready and discuss her case with Dr. Johnson. She will be discharged as soon as she wakes up and stabilises enough to walk."
"Thank you doctor", Zander said in relief.
"Zander you ok?", this time it was me asking, he seemed rather distraught
"Ya ya, call up Zach. She started getting the headaches ever since he left, even though a human she feels the mate bond and that might be why she is getting a week, she has a mate but is neither mated nor marked"
"Ya that might be", Beth supported
"Ok I will", I said leaving the hospital to make the call
