Fighting the Monsters [2]

Prior to the time before meeting the Black-scaled Dragon known as, Teranium.

As I hiked through the chained rocks that levitated through the sky, connecting island to island, I stumbled upon several heavenly monsters.

It was another unique creature; to put it bluntly, it exuded an aura different from the ones I've encountered before, such as the rain deer and the wolf glades.

A huge scarlet snake wrapped in shining scales that somehow looked extraordinary tough while its face resembled a metallic reptile that had four golden fangs coming out of its mouth. Its size was over ten meters long, omitting an ominous aura rather than an angelic salvation.

"Heavenly monsters, my ass, they all look totally ominous to me." I muttered, staring at its golden eyes that glared at me intently.

I see. It's being wary of me, isn't it?" I mumbled in my head, summoning my gun and holding it properly as I aimed at the snake's head.

The snake began to move as soon as I aimed at it, moving in a zigzag direction while its tail wiggled like a jellyfish. I continuously opened fire, hoping to hit it directly, but it was too quick for me to shoot; by the time it got near me, I instantly jumped sideways to evade its ferocious bite attack.

But I forgot that it had a tail, and once again I was hit by it and sent flying away.

The impact felt like an ant bite, reminding me that the first high damage has been dealt. So I have four left before the pain nullification deactivates.

I began shooting at it as it slithered away, moving in a motionless direction, attempting to head towards me while I stood my ground, shooting at it, and somehow managing to hit the snake's scales. But to my surprise, the bullets bounced off like nothing.

"What the fuck?"

*Wham!*

And yet again, I was whipped by its tail. Still, it was a good thing that I managed to dodge its bite. It would have been a different story if I had been bitten.

Since pain nullification only works on blunt attacks and doesn't work on penetration damage.

Since I tried cutting myself before, that's when I knew about its weaknesses. But thanks to my Elemental resistance, magic attacks somehow deal less damage to me. My tolerance for elemental affinity magic is high thanks to my passive skill.

The snake hissed as it held its head high, attempting to spit something out of its mouth.

Just then, a massive amount of purple acid came out of its mouth, heading towards me. I immediately got up and dodged it, and when I turned my head back, I noticed that the trees that got hit by it instantly melted.

"So getting hit by it is a no-go."

I began firing, hoping that somehow my bullets would penetrate its scales, but despite my efforts, they did not.

Then I tried aiming for its face, which had no scales protecting it. The snake moved swiftly in a motionless way as it dodged the bullets from hitting its face.

Now I know that its face has less defense than its scaled body. So in order to beat it, I just need to shoot its face.

Our fight continued; both of us had been evading each other's attacks simultaneously. I had become so adept at the snake's attack patterns that I began seeing its movements clearly.

But the snake has the speed to dodge my bullets even within a five-meter distance.

So in order to hit its face, I need to close our distance.

"But."

Just looking at it, standing proudly in front of me while hissing, I'll surely get eaten if I get close to it." I mumbled in my head, thinking of a solution for this situation. Numerous attempts while playing through it in my head had all ended with me getting eaten.

"Fuck, how am I going to kill this snake?"

As our battle prolonged, the area we stood in got entirely affected, leaving it in such a mess as it got wrecked by the snake's tail whips and the acids that it spat.

Nevertheless, we were both still unscathed; while the snake was still functioning properly, I, who was a human, was starting to run out of air.

The sky turned orange, completely approaching sunset. Just then, luck saved me from my dire situation.

A large flaming bear appeared out of nowhere, and with each step it made, flames followed.

By then, I realized that the snake wasn't the only boss around here.

I was on the fourth island, heading towards the highest cliff to hike once more on the chained rocks, but suddenly the snake noticed my existence and approached me.

"But now that the flaming bear has appeared, what will happen next?" I uttered, hoping that the two would fight against each other as they stared off.

But they both just stood and stared at each other, unable to make a single move. Then the snake and bear glanced in my direction.

"Shit."

Silence occurred, and the two stared at me for some time. While I prayed inside my head that the two would just start fighting already and leave me be.

But that didn't happen, as the two faced me properly with their gazes stuck on my existence.

[Analyzing...]

"What!? This isn't the time for an analysis!" I shouted abruptly after the system independently analyzed the two heavenly monsters in front of me.

[Analysis Complete: Displaying Data]

[Monster Type: Viper]

[Level: 735]

[Rank: B]

[Monster Trait: Metallic Body, Acid Saliva]

----

[Monster Type: Burn Grizzly]

[Level: 780]

[Rank: B]

[Monster Trait: Immune to Fire, Fire Magic, Body Strengthening]

Just by looking at their levels and traits, I was surely screwed if those two were to team up and fight me.

But then a notification from the system appeared in front of my eyes.

[Notice: The opponents in front of you are beyond your limits.]

[Therefore, suggesting the host in creating a new skill.]

Eh? Can skills be created?" I mumbled, thinking about what the system had just suggested to me.

[Would you like to create a new skill?]

[Yes / No]

Seeing my current situation, the two were no doubt not going to fight with each other. And without hesitation, I agreed. Hoping that a useful skill will be created that will help me dominate the two heavenly monsters in front of me.

[Skill Creation has started...]

[This will take some time; please kindly wait.]

"Eh?"

And so, the two beasts in front of me hurriedly rushed towards me, looking at me like I was some sort of food in their eyes.

Without thinking, I began running like a madman. Thanks to my level getting higher, my speed and strength were also affected. But my stamina was the problem.

I'm sure I won't be able to outrun these two monsters. Well, if the skill creation gets too long, I'll just run back to the chained rocks and return to the third island.

Or so I thought.

The chained rocks connecting to the third island had scattered. It seems that when sunset arrives, it somehow disperses itself and turns into remnants of chunky rocks floating up in the sky.

"So does this mean I can't go back or travel to the next island when nighttime comes? I also won't be able to escape these two beasts chasing me from behind. And if so, I won't survive, right? What the fuck am I doing? Why am I talking to myself!" I yelled out loud as I kept on running wearing a truly horrified expression, knowing that I might not survive another day if these two behind me suddenly caught up to me.

Then on, our chase lasted for more than forty minutes. My stamina was about to run out, and my breathing started producing sounds as I inhaled and exhaled while continuously running from the two beasts that were chasing me.

By the time I was about to give up, the system notification appeared in front of me.

[Notice: The skill "Magical bullets" has been successfully created.]

[1,500 Mana Energy have been permanently consumed.]

Magical bullets? Well, whether it sounds cringeworthy or not, I sure hope it works on these two heavenly monsters." I mumbled inside my head and summoned my gun as I kept on running. As I got near the cliff, I stopped and turned around, aiming my gun at the approaching monsters.

How do I use the new skill?" I wondered, and the system instantly notified me.

[Magical bullets can be instantly used through thought.]

[Think of an Element you wish to use, connect it with your gun, and think of it as a part of your body.]

[1 mana energy will be consumed with each Magical bullet being used.]

After the system's explanation, I grinned. Even when the two heavenly monsters were nearing me, I stood my ground and aimed my gun at them.

As their gazes retaliated by erasing my existence, I smirked with confidence and thanked the system for the wonderful explanation.

"Now that it has come to this, it's time for my counterattack!" I said in an exciting manner as I locked my eyes on the approaching beasts.

Chapter End.
