chapter 23

The girls and boys woke up of their own accord, yaz's hot breath on the doctors neck all night had made her stomach do butterflies and made the doctor blush a few times, thankfully yaz was sleeping. Despite that, the doctor managed to get a good solid four hours sleep, usually she only slept for two or three.

Yaz woke up, and not soon after the two got dressed into the same clothes as yesterday, they both brushed their hair a little, wanting to look a little. God. She remembered what Emma had said about learning more today, honestly, yaz and the doctor didn't know if they could handle more, and that was clearly expressed on Ryan's and graham's face as they all stepped out of the rooms at the same time. "morning" Graham mumbled. Ryan shared a tired look with yaz and the doctor as he stood there still rubbing his eyes. The doctor smiled mischievously . Her energy rebooted and filled up to the brim, threatening to overflow. "come on. Maybe we can get some breakfast before Emma comes to get us" she said skipping down the stairs to the diner. Yaz grinned shaking her head, a coffee would do her fine.

Ruby was on the morning shift, walking away with an order of two milkshakes, a coffee and a glass of water. The doctor also wrote something down on the order sheet, neither of the companions saw. Yaz looked at her, wondering what she ordered, and why she didn't want to share it. They all looked at each other, it was rare they saw each other after just waking up. "did you two also get a forest view?" Ryan asked, talking about his and graham's room. The doctor shook her head "town view, sorry" she said a little. Graham shrugged "well. Not to worry. At least it was darker in our room...you know, without no lights and all" Graham said, for a ryan to pull a confused face "yeah. It was also louder. I swear I could hear crickets!" he mumbled. Yaz wanted to talk more about the night, their first night in storybrooke, well, she was pleased to see that at eksdt she hadn't turned into one too. At least not yet. There was still time. She looked a tthe doctor, who shook her head, knowing yaz was on about seeing that woman in a fight with the man and the dog last night. Which led both women to remember how they had fallen asleep together, not like yaz was complaining, the doctor was very, very warm.

"you ok doc?" Graham asked, seeing her state. "yeah. You look a little flushed" Ryan said a little worried. The doctor looked up at them "I'm fine. Just a little cold" yaz scoffed, she knew that was a lie, the doctor was the warmest person she ever new, physically and emotionally. Ruby came back with the orders, a chocolate milkshake for the doctor, a strawberry one for Ryan, a glass of water for Graham and a coffee for yaz, although. There was one more thing for the doctor. "and your special request" she said dishing up a bowl. The doctor yelped in joy and smiled. "thank you"

Ryan, Graham and even yaz looked at the bowl in confusion. "what the hell..." yaz asked, to be finished off by the two boys "is that?" the doctor looked up, she was confused too, not because of the food but because of their puzzled expressions. "don't knock it until you try it!" she protested. She grinned looking down, picking a fish finger up and covering it with custard. She popped it into her mouth and her whole body warned up. Yaz could sort of understand it, but she'd rather not try it.

The bell on the door chimed as it was opening, shortly followed by a wave of heat. The doctor turned around a little to see Ella standing there. The sheriff walked over to them smiling a little "you guys get a good sleep?" Emma asked them, the four nodded in response, the doctor and yaz avoiding eye contact a little. Ryan looked up, slurping his milkshake through a straw "so, what are we doing today"

Emma grinned "were going to see the mayor"
