Chapter One

Ms. Smith's P.O.V

I breathed a sigh of relief when Jason stopped convulsing on the ground, this was a good sign as it proved that his body was slowly fusing with chemical F, both chemical FL and F was created by pure chance and with this creation we changed our fate for the better. Even to this day I still remember what took place ten years ago when the recently formed united sectors were on the brink of destruction, more specifically sector seven.....

[Flash back]

"Damn it they got us good!" Commander Gorgen shouted angrily slamming his fist through the blaring red holographic screen which displayed the catastrophic damage the now battle torn battleship had taken.

"Commander! we can't keep drifting farther and farther away from the battlefield,if our situation persist we will end up lost in the Void," the panicked voice of the second lieutenant shouted out from among the crew and this was like a chain reaction as unease and fear settled in their midst.

"What should we do commander?!" He saluted awkwardly as he saw the unrest he caused.

All eyes drifted to Commander Gorgen when this question was posed,he could see the uncertainty, fear and despair in each individual's eye but they refused to submit to these emotions because of him,he was their last hope and only light in this now dark tunnel.

Commander Gorgen P.O.V

It felt as if I had the entire world on my shoulders which in a sense I did,I had their world's! These poor souls were forced to suffer and live miserable life's because of this merciless war I'd be damned if I let them suffer more because of my folly,so raising a clenched fist above my head.

"We've been through so much together, we've suffered and lost countless loved ones because of this war,but it's also through experiencing these losses we've persevered and formed bonds of blood and steel. Our Sector Seven has the least amount of years fighting this war compared to the other sectors, but we've proved over and over again that we are never to be underestimated and looked down on...Is this where we falter? Is this where we give up and let the other sectors take our glory!? Are we really going back on our words we promised to our people, our comrades and our families who fought and sacrificed themselves!? Is our resolve the embers of a dying flame or is it a raging storm!?" I poured my heart and soul in my words and they lingered amongst,my people,my friends and most importantly my family.

"We are a raging storm!!" With fist raised above their heads came a deafening and passionate cry.

"Prove this to me now! Man your stations and let's make the impossible possible,we'll show everyone that not even the Void can shake sector seven," with these words said everyone speedily but still with a semblance of order went about to complete their task, turning my vision from them I gazed out at the depths of space and though all the moons and stars we've ventured pass had their brilliance, none of them could outshine a rather peculiar blue light in the distance and it was this light that will decide whether we live or die this day, this was the Void an unknown and terrifying phenomenon as well as a separate dimension from our own.

I clenched my fist as I stared at the encroaching light,I would be lying if I said I wasn't afraid but for better or for worse I had my comrades with me.

[Alert! Alert!...Unknown spacial fluctuations detected, proceeding any further will render other systemic functions unusable.....Divert! Divert!]

A grim expression dawned on commander Gorgen's face hearing the A.I's emotionless warning and the increase of blaring red holographic screens:"What the hell?! But we aren't even close to the Voids effective range? Find out what's going on,".

"Yes sir!" First lieutenant Ilanor(A.K.A Ms. Smith) answered before darting over to the navigation and radar station, she couldn't make heads or tails of what she was seeing and judging from the puzzled look on the men and women face in charge of that section neither could they. All was displayed was electromagnetic waves both big and small shrouding the ship and it's surroundings but as for it's source,it remained unknown.Which didn't make any sense anything giving off this magnitude of electromagnetic waves should be detected easily so why?.

As Ilanor pondered this,a possibility surfaced and all colour drained from her face giving her once dark green skin a paler green look, she then rushed back to Commander Gorgen.

"Commander! I think we have a major....." before her sentence was heard a member of the research division pushed passed her with a frantic look on his face.

"Commander we've got a serious problem on our hands, based on these readings we're getting now,and previous readings three years ago when the Void first appeared...they are very similar," hearing his report a chill went down everyone's spine as the possibility of what was happening dawned.

"Get us out off here now!" Commander Gorgen shouted recovering slightly faster than anyone else.

But alas they were too naive in thinking this Void coming into being would wait and let them escape.A loud ripping sound was heard as the fabric of space was torn asunder by an unknown force and then a blinding white light appeared in front of the drifting ship, everything seemed freeze in that moment as no one moved or it was the fact that they couldn't will themselves to move and just like that they were all engulfed in the Unknown Void..

End of flash back

I still shiver remembering that moment but it was that encounter that changed our fates.

Now snapping out of my reverie I noticed something different about the lab,the room had a spike in temperature as I was sweating profusely from the heat.

"Hmm!" suddenly I felt a freezing cold and what caused this despite the now boiling room, was the murderous rage directly aimed at my back, moving almost robotically I turned to see what was the source and it didn't help relax my tense nerves one bit,but only added a fear I've never felt since on this planet.

My once unconscious student was back on his feet, but he was definitely different judging from the bloodlust he gave off and crazed look in his eyes not to mention the bizarre white flames engulfing him,I'm starting to regret my previous actions.
