Beginning Of War!

On top of a mound in a clear field with the forest surrounding it, Lucifer and Rimuru could be seen sitting in chairs with a small round table in front of them.

They were currently drinking tea at the meeting battle point, waiting for Hinata without a care in the world.

"Lucifer are you sure this is a good idea?" Rimuru raised his eyebrows at Lucifer.

Lucifer just nodded silently with a slight smile as if he was in a daze.

"Hey! Why are you being so quiet?" Rimuru waved his hands in front of Lucifer's face.

"I'm just thinking." Lucifer replied, seemingly in a daze.

He was reviewing their plans in his head and ensuring sure there weren't any flaws.

He would be lying if he said he wasn't a little nervous, but he has people counting on him, and he has no space for mistakes.

"Mhm. All the citizens have already been evacuated into the Labyrinth." Rimuru just shook his head and changed the topic.

"Which executives are guarding them?" Lucifer questioned.

"As we discussed before, Geld, Gabiru, Zegion, and the others will be protecting the whole of Tempest." Rimuru responded while sipping tea.

"Good. It seems as if our guests have arrived." Lucifer stated as his gaze landed toward a certain direction where thousands of figures can be seen.

The footsteps were resounding throughout the field toward Lucifer and Rimuru who were drinking tea calmly, thousands of meters away.

"It seems the war will soon begin." Rimuru muttered.

"Halt!" Hinata's command resounded to all the 20,000 troops behind her.

Immediately all troops halted at her command.

"What is the meaning of this!?" The king was carried to the front by his servants.

Hinata just silently pointed toward Rimuru and Lucifer who seemed to be casually drinking tea, completely ignoring their presence.

"Are they ignoring us!? How dare they!?" The king looked toward where Hinata pointed and started shaking in anger.

Hinata just narrowed her eyes in thought.

'Are they trying to provoke us? A trap maybe? But where?' Hinata looked around suspiciously, trying to figure out what their plan was.

"Attack those trash! Kill them now!" The king glared at the nonchalant Rimuru and Lucifer.

"CHARGEE!!"

"Wait-"

"VICTORY SHALL BE OURS!"

Hinata was trying to tell them to wait but she was ignored by all of Falmuths soldiers cheering.

All of Falmuths soldiers started to charge straight toward Lucifer and Rimuru.

"Lady Hinata, do you see something?" Renard the vice-captain of the Ten Great Saints questioned from behind.

'We're in a clear field and I don't sense anything for miles, the only option would be-' Hinata immediately looked downwards.

"Retreat!" Hinata quickly ordered her 100 soldiers.

Renard followed Hinata's eye's downwards and his eyes widened after focusing.

'How much explosives is that!?' Renard nervously backed up.

"Retreat!" Renard repeated Hinata's orders.

The rest of the Ten Great Saints seemed confused about why they were acting that way but nonetheless retreated a few hundred meters with the rest of the soldiers.

"Lady Hinata why did we retreat? Shouldn't we be helping Falmuth's soldiers?" A random soldier asked with confusion.

Hinata was about to explain, but her eyes widened as Lucifer can be seen with a creepy wide smile staring right at them.

BOOMM!!

A large explosion went off at the previous location of the Falmuth soldiers who were charged.

The large explosion went up in over hundreds and thousands of meters in flames.

Hinata's eyes widened in shock at the display in front of her, but she immediately calmed down and put down a barrier, protecting everybody from the explosion.

Hinata's foot was pushed into the ground a little, but she effortlessly stopped the aftermath of the explosion from touching her soldiers.

"*Sigh* I tried to tell them. Idiot old men like him don't deserve to be leading men into battle." Hinata sighed, her cold gaze looking at the dust cloud that seemed to have no end.

"Oh my god. What type of power was that?"

"Are they all dead?"

"Is this the power of a god?"

All the soldiers excluding the Ten Great Saints seemed to be fear stricken of the aftermath of the explosion.

The blonde-haired saint, Renard stepped up beside Hinata.

"Fritz, clear the smoke with your wind magic." Renard ordered.

"Tsk, who are you to give me orders?" A silver-haired man stepped up with his brows furrowed.

Hinata coldly glanced at him.

"Do as he says." She ordered.

Fritz's eyebrows twitched but he just did as he was told.

"Disperse." He muttered.

Instantly a large gush of wind came and dispersed all the smoky debris.

What could be seen was a crater that seemed to have no end.

"All the Falmuth soldiers dead like that? They seem to be much more powerful than we anticipated." Renard frowned while gazing at the crater that was thousands of meters wide.

"We'll be able to handle them easily, those were just some fodder. Their nothing compared to me!" One buff man with brown hair grinned with excitement.

"Grigori, this is the exact reason why nobody takes you serious. Stop being so cocky, it will be the end of you." A red-haired woman snickered.

"Glenda!? Do you wanna go-"

"Enough! This is not the time to be fighting!" Hinata furrowed her eyebrows at the squabbling of Glenda and Grigori.

"Lady Hinata what should we do n-"

Renard was trying to ask Hinata what they should do, but she suddenly swung her sword in front of her.

Clang!

A projectile clashed against her sword but she slapped it away with her sword.

"Wha-"

Renard was trying to question what that was, but Hinata swung her sword again, this time in front of Renard's face.

Clang!

Another projectile attempted to hit Renard but was promptly cut in half by Hinata.

Renard looked closer and noticed the bullets that were slowly disappearing into the atmosphere.

"Bullets?" Renard questioned with a flabbergasted face.

"Don't let your guard down again." Hinata advised staring at Renard with a pointed look.

"My apologies Lady Hinata, I won't make the same mistake again." Renard quickly apologized and readied his sword as did the others.

The rest of the Ten Great Saints started looking around, trying to find the perpetrator.

'That was fast. Probably the fastest bullet I have ever seen, not even Glenda's comes close.' Hinata inwardly thought, glancing toward a certain direction with a wary gaze.

"Where are they!?" Glenda glanced around warily because even though her guard was down, she didn't notice the bullets at all.

And she of all people understood the dangers of such weapons.

Even the meathead Grigori was on guard, trying to find the location of where the shot came from.

The 100 foot soldiers with them were also trying to find the attackers, but inwardly they were hoping they didn't, since they knew that would mean their death.

"Argh, you bastard! You really tried to be cheap and shoot them when they weren't looking! What kind of man are you!?"

"It's war! There are no rules! Nobody died anyways, so stop pestering me."

"Oh when I win the bet and get the dare, I'm gonna punish you with the worst!"

"Sorry but I don't have kinks like that, but we can try other things."

"You know that's not what I meant!"

In the distance a duo could be heard bickering.

The Ten Great Saints instantly looked toward the direction of the voices and were gobsmacked.

"Are they seriously arguing in front of us?" Litus, a blonde-haired girl asked with a frown.

"Are they stupid!?" Grigori exclaimed angrily.

"Like you have room to talk." Bacchus, an old-looking blond-haired man shook his head.

"Tsk." Grigori just clicked his tongue.

Hinata just narrowed her eyes at the bickering duo.

'Are they so confident that they can beat us? Well, it doesn't matter, I still need to avenge Shizue Sensei and her students from these monsters. I won't let such monsters stop me.' Hinata hardened her resolve and slowly walked toward the duo with her comrades following.

The bickering duo was Rimuru and Lucifer themselves, stepping out of the surrounding forest into the open.

"Damn it! I wanted to have a cool entrance and you just had to ruin it with your nagging!" Lucifer complained.

"What's so cool about a pervert like you?" Rimuru questioned with a raised eyebrow.

"You know I really thought I had you by surprise, but as expected of Hinata Sakaguchi the Chief of The Holy Knights! You truly deserve that title." Lucifer ignored Rimuru and continued walking toward Hinata, complimenting her while at it.

"You know who I am? Well it doesn't matter, your both bound to die anyways." Once Hinata reached a sufficient distance of a few meters from them, she stopped and coldly glanced at them.

Her allies were behind her, staring at the two with their weapons ready to attack.

"Of course, I know all of the beautiful women in the world, or at least the strong ones." Lucifer smirked.

Rimuru just looked at Lucifer pointedly.

'Tsk look at him flirting in a middle of a battle field! It's not like I care.' Rimuru clicked his tongue inwardly, unknowingly angry.

[*Sigh*]

'Great sage? Why are you sighing?' Rimuru questioned after hearing [Great Sage] sigh for no reason.

[It's just your imagination master.] Great sage replied as if it practiced the line for moments like these.

Rimuru just told himself he would find out later and focused back on the conversation.

"Flattery won't get you any where." Hinata replied point blankly.

"Uh-huh. So this is all the guys you have? This should be easier than I thought." Lucifer smirked but inwardly he was sweating bullets.

'If these guys call my bluff and just attack us, we're so fucked. Where the hell is Diablo with the souls!?'

[Lucifer! Are you sure we shouldn't just evolve with the human souls from those Falmuth soldiers!?] Rimuru asked through thought communication.

[We can, but I have a strong theory that if we evolve using demon souls rather than human souls, we can be stronger compared to human souls. If they seem like their about to attack, we'll immediately discard the plan and just evolve with the Human souls.] Lucifer replied.

[Alright, I got it.] Rimuru nodded inwardly.

[Also don't forget, you'll probably need help fighting the urge to sleep once the evolution starts, so make sure [Great Sage] handles it.] Lucifer reminded Rimuru.

[Yeah yeah, you better be safe.] Rimuru replied with a smile inwardly.

"Bastard! We'll see who's easy!" Grigori stepped up.

"Enough!" Hinata put her sword in front of Grigori, stopping him from further advancing.

"He's clearly taunting you into attacking, stop falling for such simple tricks." Hinata shook her head.

"Do you have any last words monsters?" Hinata questioned with a cold tone while staring at Rimuru and Lucifer.

"Their not last words, but I do have a lot I wanna talk about." Lucifer cheekily responded.

"What's with the whole tomboy look? Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with it but are you insecure about your gender? Or are you actually a boy? Ohh, maybe it's your kink?" Lucifer started to make fun of Hinata.

Hinata's brows twitched in annoyance.

Renard behind Hinata just narrowed his eyes and got ready to lunge at them.

"Lady Hinata, I will deal with these monsters myself." Renard was about to jump at them but Hinata stopped him with her sword.

"Don't worry, I will deal with these insufferable idiots myself." Hinata calmly stated and immediately lunged at them.

As her sword was inches away from Lucifer's face, a black claw came into contact with her sword and blocked it.

'It blocked my sword!? To be able to block my sword without even getting a scratch means that claw is something dangerous.' Hinata warily glanced at the new guest who stood by Lucifer and Rimuru's side in a butler suit.

"Well well, lookey here, it's the bastard who took forever." Lucifer complained to Diablo but was ignored.

"Lord Rimuru I have the souls." Diablo bowed infront of Rimuru.

"Good job." Rimuru nodded and touched Diablo on his shoulder, taking the souls he brought.

'Ahh, heaven! To be praised by Lord Rimuru! And he even graced me with his touch! This would have been a perfect day if that fakey of a Lord, Lucifer wasn't here.' Diablo inwardly thought, while visibly looking down on Lucifer when Rimuru wasn't looking.

"Ah, Lord Rimuru I would like to participate in this battle if you would allow me to do so." Diablo looked at Rimuru with hope.

"Stick with the plan Diablo, you and the others have to be ready and fully prepared for when the Empire comes, so just go back to Tempest and guard it with the other executives. Me and Lucifer we'll be fine, we are trusting you guys with the safety of Tempest while we're shortly out." Rimuru tried to entice Diablo with the prospect of being the protector of Tempest.

"Ah! Such a great responsibility that I will handle to the best of my abilities, rest assured, Tempest will be completely safe." Diablo seemingly deflated but cheered up at the prospect of being the protector of Tempest.

"Okay, you can go now." Rimuru nodded.

"Of course Lord Rimuru." Diablo stated before disappearing.

'Did he just ignore me this whole time!? Watch when I catch his ass later.' Lucifer inwardly swore.

"You guys think you can keep looking down on us?" Hinata raised her voice, she seemed to be getting angered at constantly getting ignored.

"You guys could have just attacked us when we were talking." Lucifer replied nonchalantly.

"You think we're as shameless as you scoundrels!" Grigori exclaimed.

Lucifer just rolled his eyes, but soon smiled as he did earlier at the bomb.

Even Rimuru looked a little creeped out.

"Shall we get started now?" Lucifer questioned.
