Chapter Twenty Three

The day of the tournament finally came. It took hours to dress Alora to Ira's satisfaction. They had to change clothes like five times before she finally agreed to pick that one.

Alora was wondering why she was even picking her dresses for her in the first place. As Alora walked down the stairs, Ruger was already waiting for her.

She looked elegant as she walked down the stairs in her red princess gown that was decorated with diamonds. Her crown sat proudly on her raid hair that was up in a bun, decorated with silver accessories.

"You look beautiful, Alora." Ruger complimented but before Alora could reply, Ira did.

"I have good eyes for fashion. I wonder why you haven't agreed to my proposal on opening a fashion house of my own." Ira walked past Ruger and all he could do was sigh.

"Where is Zayen, father?" Alora asked.

"He left already to prepare for his fight. Where is Ava?" Ruger looked around and she rushed in.

"I'm here my Lord." Ava bowed and he nodded.

"Ohh, no wonder I didn't see you clinging on to me as I was dressing. You're also coming with us. Well that's great." Alora smiled, collecting her hand fan from the maid that helped her down from her room. "Thank you."

It was Ava's first time riding in a Royal carriage and it actually surprised her more than how Alora was surprised her first time. Thankfully, they didn't take the same carriage as Ruger or she would have totally embarrassed herself. She kept moving from opposite chairs to opposite chairs to see if they were more comfortable than the other.

"Wow. So this is what it feels like to actually ride in a carriage. I pray I pass my tests so I will be able to ride in it all the time." Ava squealed.

"As a future first lady Ava, you have to sit quietly in a carriage and not try to know which is comfortable or not. It's cracking me up." Alora covered her mouth with her gloved hands.

"Well, it really feels nice to ride in a fancy carriage." Ava said, picking one of the cookies on the plate.

Not long after, they got to the tournament location. Their carriage had to stop for a few minutes before her presence was announced and the doors of the carriage opened. Everyone cheered when they saw their young first lady step out of the carriage.

They were led to their special seats where Ruger and the other Lords were already seated. There was an extra chair just a step below Alora's chair that was meant for Ava to sit on.

Soon the tournament started. Archers were the first to perform. Their performance was outrageous and beautiful. The horse riders too had their performance before it was finally time for Ileus and Zayen's fight.

"Welcome to one of the main events in today's tournament. Lord Zayen from Arran would be fighting Prince Ileus. The rules to this match are very easy and simple to understand. First let our two brave warriors step out.

Ileus walked in with his sword looking confident and determined. If looks could dig holes, the floor would have been dug into a long tunnel with his intense gaze on the floor.

As soon as Zayen walked in the crowd started cheering louder. Females were the one cheering most.  He was swinging his sword, his hair was wet and dripping. He looked like a god coming down to fight a little warrior who is no match for his size and power.

He looked kind of different, his beauty came out more in the outfit he was wearing showing he was truly made for battle.

"He looks even cuter." Ava whispered to Alora who just chuckled as she watched ladies swoon over her brother. If they knew he had a soon to be wife, they would all be heartbroken.

"Lots of girls are trying and begging to reach him. Is he that cute? Well, this fight would be fun, I'm really sure of." Alora picked a chicken lap from the maid who was standing behind her, holding the snacks for her.

"Who are you supporting, Alora?" Ruger asked her.

"None of them." Alora replied, chewing her chicken with her eyes fixed on the two swordsmen. "The two of them seem to be good in their own ways. But anyways, I'll congratulate Zayen if he wins and scold him if he loses."

"Zayen never loses a battle. He was born for battle." Aero supported Zayen which only made Alora sigh.

"Now the fight between the two warriors princes. The rules are very simple, the first person to stop stays down for over two minutes loses. There is no enemy that would wait for you to regain yourself for up to two minutes."

The two princes started fighting. Both of these royalties seem to be very skilled but they haven't started bringing the heat on one another, well at least Zayen hasn't started bringing the heat on Ileus yet.

Every passing minute, their fight became more and more intense. "Mmm, interesting." Alora picked another chicken lap and munched away.

"He'll get hurt." Ava whispered worriedly.

"Calm down Ava, he'll be fine." Alora rolled her eyes. "He must be fine. If he loses or gets a major wound, I'll seriously look at him like a weak chicken."
