Carpooling With A Werewolf

Feeling relatively safe with Alexander, Allison opened the passenger door for him, so he could bandage up her forehead. Which he did, quite carefully and gently as she was a girl and not one of his Lacrosse teammates. That said he was still a bit rough just not as much as he usually was.

" There, that should do it."

Alexander proudly stated, as he moved away revealing a visibly mummified Allison. At least that's what she expected, yet it was both neat and well done. Leaving her absolutely no room to complain, thought it did raise a question.

" I-it's, really good. Where did you learn how to treat cuts so well?"

Being asked a question he knew was coming, Alexander let out a short chuckle. He would answer just as soon as he put away the first aid kit.

" Didn't I tell you, I've played sports my whole life treating cuts and bruises is something you pick up along the way. Although I must say, you held out better than a lot of guys I know."

Receiving such an odd compliment, Allison was first stunned before letting out a playful smile. Alexander responded with one of his own, and as everything seemed to be coming together. Her phone rang disrupting their flow fleeting moment.

" Sorry, I have to pick up."

With his heightened sense of sight, Alexander had been able to make out the caller's name, Mom. Seeing that he politely excused himself, and took a stroll meanwhile.

" Yeah, go ahead."

Of course, he also now possessed heightened hearing allowing him to listen to their conversation.

" Hello?"

A much more timid Allison shyly answered. To which her presumed mother, loudly asked.

" Allison, did you arrive safely?"

Before replying Allison sheepishly looked around yet in the end regretted doing so.

" No, mom I actually-"

Mid sentence, Allison's mother cut her daughter off and began to onload on her.

" Why not Allison? I already told you that I won't tolerate you acting out again like you did in San Francisco."

Allison tried to get in a word in but ultimately couldn't and gave up.

" Mom it's not like that if you'd liste-"

" I don't want to hear your excuses Allison. What I want is for you to get to school right this minute. Or do you want me to speak to your father about driving you?"

" I-i understand. I'll text you once I get there alright?"

Immediately after hanging up, Allison threw her phone with it landing on the passenger seat.

Alexander had unwillingly eavesdropped and while he felt sorry for Allison he couldn't get in a family affair. Leaving him the odd man out as he also couldn't or rather shouldn't try to comfort her. After all he was still a stranger and would come off as taking advantage of Allison. Which was something he wouldn't feel right about seeing as he was partially responsible for her current situation. So for the next few minutes he stood a couple feet away as Allison vented alone.

Soon enough she regained her composure enough to be able to speak again.

" Hey, um, thanks for helping me. Do you need a ride into town?"

" Where are you headed?"

" To Beacon Hills High, but if you need to go somewhere else as long as it's within Beacon Hills I don't mind taking you."

Listening to her now, Alexander knew his earlier speculation was way off. Allison wasn't having trouble regaining her composure at all, in fact she seemed to take it in strides.

" Actually, I was also on my way to school. Guess you're a late transfer?"

' Derek will probably call or text when he needs me, so why not accept the ride?'

When Allison heard his response, she couldn't help but wonder how he possibly expected to get to school on time on foot. Naturally Alexander also realized this inconsistency in his story, but luckily for him Allison didn't bring it up.

" Yeah, I am. Although I wanted to waste some time before heading there, but since you're also going, let's go, get in."

Getting inside her car, Alexander's heightened sense of smell picked up several different scents. With one in particular slightly bothering him, glancing around he wasn't able to find the source.

' What is that smell?'

Alexander hadn't really hidden his curious gaze, leading Allison to ask him if he was okay.

" Something wrong?"

Becoming accustomed to lying, Alexander came up with convincing lie and seamlessly played it off. As the conversation went from his obvious glancing around to Allison's past.

" Oh, no. I was just surprised by how spacious your car actually is. Looking at it from outside, it appeared to be much more compact."

" Oh totally. That's one of the reasons I love this car. Back when I lived in San Francisco I could fit all my gear inside and still be left with a ton of room."

" Your gear? You, let me guess being a Cali Girl you probably surfed or hiked?"

" Have you seen my skin, I'm so pale that I'd literally combust into flames if I ever went surfing or hiking. No, I actually did a couple years of Gymnastics and Archery in both elementary and middle school."

" That's, actually pretty awesome. Their not activities people join for the fun of it, they usually take it very serious. Did you go to any competitions or meets?"

" A couple, but they really weren't my thing. How about you? Earlier you said you'd been playing sports your whole life. Is that true?"

" Yeah, my parents weren't around a whole lot when I was young, so they always signed me up for any after school activities. From little league to soccer and even tennis, I've played most of the sports found out there."

" What about now? Are you playing in any team right now?"

" I'm in my- I guess it's our school now, I'm in the Lacrosse team."

" Lacrosse, huh? I've never seen a game before. Is it fun?"

" It really is, specially here in Beacon Hills. It's the most popular and most watched sport in the entire county. Being part of the Varsity team instantly makes you a celebrity throughout the town."

" And you, are you in the Varsity team?"

" I-"

Unfortunately, Alexander's response was cut short due to a phone ringing. Seeing as the ringtone didn't match Allison's phone, Alexander checked his. However taking it out, only a black screen greeted him yet the ringing continued. Seated next to him, Allison also blankly stared at the black screen, wondering what was happening.

" That's weird."

It was then when Alexander recalled that Derek had thrown him a phone as he drove away. Rummaging through his clothes, he soon found the ringing phone and answered.

" Hey what's-"

Alexander wa only able to mouth those two words before Derek began speaking in quite a serious tone.

" Don't talk, just listen."

Alexander proceeded to do as he was told and stay quiet due to the desperate sound of Derek's voice.

" ..."

" Things just became a whole lot more dangerous alright, so after dealing with that driver go home immediately. And for no, and I mean absolutely no reason go anywhere near large crowds. Your body's barely getting accustomed to your Werewolf side, leaving you vulnerable to sudden alterations in your behavior."

The more Alexander listened to Derek speaking, the more anxious he became. Also since he was told not to talk, he wasn't sure if he should tell Derek that he was on his way to school. Where a couple hundred people would be all gathered in one place.

" I've got to hang up now. I'll text you the address where we'll meet up later tonight."

After saying those two last sentences, Derek immediately hanged up. Leaving Alexander to wonder how he was to get out of this situation. Specially seeing as Allison was pulling into their school's parking lot.

' Well this is going to be a fucking nightmare...'

Finding an open spot some ways from the entrance, Allison went ahead and parked. During the time that she was looking for a parking spot, Alexander was thinking of ways to run away. He eventually did come up with one such excuse, one he believed was quite good.

' As soon as we get out, I'll point out that I forgot my backpack at home. Surely she can't expect me to go to class without my backpack right?'

Giving himself a meaningful glance through the rear view mirror. He waited for Allison to pick up her bag from the back seat and step out, as the perfect moment to act.

" Allison."

As she fixed her hair after throwing her bag over her shoulder, Allison turned towards Alexander.

" Yeah? What's the matter?"

Trying to get this over as soon as possible, he spoke as fast as he could.

" You see I forgot my-"

Only for a loud voice calling out to "Alex" interrupting him mid sentence.

" Alex?"

It was then that Alexander saw a very familiar face a couple of feet behind Allison.

" D-danny!"

Sue enough, the same young man from that fateful night was walking towards Alexander and Allison.

" I thought you weren't going to show up today? What happened did you- Hello who's this now?"

Caught completely off guard by the sudden appearance of his best friend, Alexander stumbled to answer.

" Um, she's..."

Leaving Allison to step forward, shake Danny's hand and introduce herself.

" I'm Allison, nice to meet you."

Danny was immediately charmed by Allison's straightforward personality. Much to Alexander's dismay as he desperately wanted to leave the school as soon as possible.

" Danny, and the pleasures all mine. Where did you go to come back with such a pretty girl? Huh?"

Danny playfully asked Alexander who was forced to come up with a escape plan on the spot.

" I actually saved her from a hit and run. So if you'd excuse us, we should probably go see the nurse. Just to make sure that everything's fine, y'know."

Coming up with this excuse, Alexander grabbed onto Allison's wrist and pulled her along. To which she replied that she was fine, but Alexander ignored her.

" I feel fine. I don't think-"

Taking half a step to his right, placing him directly in front of Allison and blocking Danny's view. Alexander secretly winked at Allison with pleading eyes. Resulting in her nodding in response and following after him. As they quickly walked away, Alexander turned back and waved goodbye at Danny.

" That must be the concussion talking, come let me take you to the nurse... I'll see you later Danny."

Confused by his friend's sudden appearance and then quick exit Danny could only wave back.

" See you later?"

Thinking of making this crossover with the Vampire Diaries and The Originals. Let me know if you'd be interested in that storyline.
