"I'm heading out, uncle."

Kaycee and I were hiding out in the bathroom. A strange feeling came over me as I sat there with my ears open to the slightest sound. It was as if the air carried Uncle Mikel's thoughts, which got closer and closer to my room as time passed. I quickly moved her away from where she was standing just as she came down on me out of the blue. Unfortunately, I'm only wearing boxer shorts, and a towel draped over my legs keeps me from being seen.

Uncle's voice, which was full of interest, could be heard from the other side of the door. "How did you know it was me?"

My gaze momentarily grazed upon Kaycee. "You have telepathy," she said.

But instead of answering Kaycee's question, I felt forced to answer Uncle Mikel's question. "You are the only one who comes into my room besides Andrew, who no longer knocks on the door."
