The Memory: Mikel

"I'll start Evo before your mom finds out."

I looked at Bella and gave her a nod. Bella took my hand, and we both took Uncle Mikel's.

MIKEL'S MEMORY

It was an odd thought that Mikel had. Evo and Bella saw a memory of Mikel as a child.

"Who is the boy with you, Papa?" the girl asked.

"Oh, he's your brother. His name is Mikel," the unknown man said.

"Brother? I am the only child of Mama. No, he's not my brother." The girl turned away after she said that.

Evo and Bella saw a different scene. This is a scene from a school. Mikel got beat up by a few kids. When Mikel saw Mildred just watching what the bullies did to him, he started crying because he feared them.

"Do you know this man, Mildred?"

"He said that he was your brother."

"Why didn't you tell us you had a strange brother?"

Mildred didn't blink as she stared at Mikel. "I don't have a brother who's a coward." Mildred turned around again and let the bullies pick on Mikel.
