Eduard's Heartbreaking Past

Bella's POV

When Kaycee and I got back home, Uncle hadn't arrived yet, so I waited for him to come. He had mentioned he'd be staying over, so I stayed up. Just before midnight, the door suddenly opened, and there was Uncle, looking a bit worn out. I went up to greet him right away.

"Why did you come home late? We left you early earlier." I said.

I smelled the alcohol on my uncle's breath; that's why I frowned. 'Haist, how did he still manage to drive drunk? Those who enforce the law are the first to disobey it,' I thought.

"Kaycee? Where is she?"

"Go to sleep."

Uncle smiled slightly. "What he did was great. You saved Evo earlier." Uncle glanced at me. "How did you know?"

I took a deep breath and told my uncle what happened. He was stunned for a moment, and then he stood up and went straight to the kitchen. Get a beer from the fridge in three pieces, then sit back on the sofa.
