Breaching the Reserve

It was day third day of the survival training. Leo and the group had killed five low basic terrors in total. They were yet to come across any mid basic terrors.

"I think we should go deeper into the forest, maybe we will see a few mid basic terrors." Leo suggested to the group.

"Hell no, I have gone along with both your madness, this is not happening." Grey was quick to refuse Leo suggestion.

Leo looked at Sasha, waiting for her response.

"I am with Grey on this one, we can't overestimate ourselves. From what I know, the difference in strength of a mid-basic terror and a low basic terror is more than double."

Leo gave a sigh, what they said was true, they shouldn't bite more than they could chew.

RUMBLE.

The ground below began rumbling.

"What is going on?" Grey asked.

"Grey use your ice to make a platform and float us high to see the issue." Leo instructed Grey.

"OK, but I won't be able to hold it long." As he said that, he made an ice platform and flew the group up. When they were about thirty five feet up, what they saw left them speechless.

Inside a meeting type room. The first year instructors could be seen seating with the headmaster, along as the reserve defense soldiers.

"How many minutes till they reach the reserve?" The head master asked one of the soldiers who were in the room.

"Sir they are expected to hit the wall in ten minutes time." The soldier responded.

"That's not a lot of time." The head master said under his breath. He then looked up at the instructors and spoke.

"There is an incoming wave of terror, the number not less than 200. We assume this is the work of shadow, but now is not the time to talk about that. Someone has sabotaged our teleporter, so we have to get to the reserve within ten minutes. Those students cannot hold off a wave of terrors consisting of low, mid and high basic terrors, also they is the possibility of mutants. We have to get to the students as quick as possible.

"What are we going to do? They are hundreds of terrors heading here." Grey said in a panic.

"Calm down, although this is bad the academy must have already noticed this, and they are probably doing something about it. All we need do is survive till the get here, in fact that's all we can do." Leo said.

"We should also try to get back to the gates of the reserve, we will be more assessable there if the academy begins a rescue." Sasha added.

Ten minutes later.

Terrors climbed the walls of the reserve, the wall canons could not stop the wave at all. Now the terrors who were already inside the walls and those that came newly, altogether made a fearful number that dwarfed the students' numbers 3 to1.

BOOM.

A tentacle struck Leo's crossed arms sending him flying into a tree. Leo spat out a mouth full of blood and struggled back on his feet.

'Damn, this mid tiers are no joke.'

"Leo, are you alright?" Grey asked Leo.

"Yeah, but if we don't take this thing down quick, we won't be alright."

"We will create an opening, use your strongest attack to hit it." Sasha said before dashing towards the terror.

Sasha made a fire ball as huge as a basketball, she ran headed for the terror. The terror noticed Sasha, and struck out with three tentacles.

"Now Grey!" Sasha shouted.

Grey quickly created an ice pillar under her launching her into the air, causing the tentacles to hit nothing but air. The team work between the three had reached new levels during this three days.

Sasha who was now in the air shot her fire ball. The fire ball moved at a high speed, hitting the terror. The fire ball exploded as soon as it hit the terror. This explosion disorientated the terror completely.

Leo took this opportunity to activate DASH, shooting off like a bullet that had just been released from the barrel of a gun. He reached within striking range, then he transformed his gauntlet on his right hand to the Lance drill. The lance drill activated, spinning at an intense rate.

The whirling sound of the drill filled the air, as Leo drove the lance drill into the still disorientated terror. The lance killed the terror on the spot.

Leo was panting, struggling to catch his breath. That simple attack had drained his stamina. Sasha and Grey both began to catch their breaths. They had won this battle without major injuries, but it was far from easy.

"That attack right now, what was it Leo"? Grey asked as he sat down on the ground to catch his breath.

"It's new part of my ability." Leo answered easily, as though the answer had been prepared beforehand. He had taken time to research Meta abilities, more specifically mecha types. He came to learn that amongst all ability types, mecha types where known for having the most variations in their ability. This proved as an easy cover up story for Leo. Grey nodded, seemingly believing what Leo said.

"It took us a lot of energy, to deal with one mid basic terror. We need to get to safety as soon." Sasha spoke. She was still seating and trying to catch her breath. The attack that she had done, a few minutes ago was one that drained her Meta and physical energy.

"The alliance should be doing something to stop this major fiasco. If they don't then more than half the class dies. No matter how you look at it, this is not a good thing," Leo said. "We should keep moving," Leo got up, and began walking, heading in the direction they believed was to the gate. The rest also began moving, but before they got too far.
