DREW

I thought I'd seen it all, but this had to be the most hostile divorce case I’d ever handled.

Most couples hated each other but they pretended to be civil during the proceedings. Not Lucas and Camille. They were like a cat and a dog. The office had dubbed them Tom and Jerry. It was clear to all of us that these two couldn’t stand each other, let alone be in the same room without exchanging the vilest, most vulgar and garish words that were spewed in rapid Italian that made your head spin. Jerry Springer would have made a killing if they went on his show.

I might be wrong but Lucas didn't come across as the violent type. But, the wife, who probably knew him better, claimed he was a wolf in sheep’s clothing. She had wormed her way into my house and every day she sang the same song, ‘it’s just for tonight’, or the upgraded version: ‘Just one more night, I promise.’

It has been a week now. She was still there.
