Logan slowly opened his eyes and heard the sounds of blazing sirens. As he slowly got back to his feet, feeling dizzy, not knowing what was happening around him. As his vision got better, he looked around and found himself in... a city?

He was standing in the middle of the road of a familiar city. It wasn't any place he had visited in real life, but Logan had a feeling he knew the place well.

'I was supposed to be in a prison, right? Wait, was it all a dream?'

As much as Logan wanted everything to be nothing but a nightmare, his luck wasn't all that good. Soon enough, the memories of what happened flooded his head. The hologram of the man and his words echoed inside his head.

A test of survival? How are they planning to do that?

Logan went into full-on strategic thinker mode.

The man said they would force them into a VR pod to play a game. Since there wasn't a logout option, it meant he was stuck there unless someone either pulled him out of the pod or the system forcefully ejected him.

While Logan was thinking all that, he failed to notice there were quite a few people around him.

"Damn it, they should have just let us kill each other in real life. It would have been much easier."

As soon as Logan heard the voice, he jumped. He hadn't been dreaming, he really was in some sort of game.

He turned to see around a hundred people standing around him. But the man who said those words looked far more terrifying than the rest of them. Maybe it was because of the man's toned physique and horrific face. But Logan had decided to not get in the man's way.

"Yeah, you think you can kill any of us here?" The woman Logan had seen before quickly retorted.

"Don't worry babe, I won't kill you. But turning you into a toy to pleasure me doesn't seem like a bad idea. Kekeke." The bald man replied.

It seemed a war would break down there at any moment as more and more people began bickering amongst each other.

At the same time, a realization hit Logan in the face. The people who would play with him were cold-hearted criminals, who were on death row for god knows what crimes.

They saw him as one of their own, but only Logan knew he had been falsely accused of committing crimes. Which meant... these people were no strangers to killing others without a tinge of hesitation or remorse.

It would be better if I stay away from them.

Logan thought and wanted to take a step away from them, but failed.

No matter how much he tried, he couldn't take a step. It felt as if someone had glued his feet to the streets. At the same time, an announcement was made.

'These classes... I have seen them before!' Logan couldn't help but smile.

It would seem his luck wasn't completely dead till now.

'These all belong to Devil's Assassin VRMMO!'

It was the same game Logan had spent the recent part of his life on and had gained popularity in the streaming world as being one of the best Creationists the game had ever seen.

'So this Tartarus Online crap is a ripoff of Devil's Assassin? Wait, now that I recall... Devil's Assassin was created by a company named Tartarus. Don't tell me, they are the ones in charge of running this prison as well!?'

Logan felt as if he was on to something, but before he could ponder on it anymore, the timer reminded him to choose a class.

He knew choosing [Nimble Creationist] class would reduce his vitality which would then reduce his HP as 1 VIT was equivalent to 100 HP, but if everything went right, he could increase all of his stats well over 10 points so it should be fine.
