First Boss Fight (Part 1)

Xenoic energy was a stat exclusive to the creationist class. But Logan had no recollection of anyone ever getting the stat in the tutorial.

The only way he was aware of was to evolve to the third stage of the creationist class and pray to get it as a random reward for successfully evolving to the next class. Even then, it only had about a 12% drop rate, which left countless people to rage quit the game.

Even Logan had to re-roll his main account and sub-accounts countless times to actually get it. But it was all worth it. After all, it was a game-changing stat that even those who had couldn't use properly.

After all the hours he spent on Devil's Assassin, even Logan couldn't claim he had mastered xenoic Energy. The effects and uses of the skill were far too versatile to master it completely.

Leaving all that behind to think he got such a thing early in the game was a bit... strange. But he wasn't complaining. Still, xenoic energy wasn't of much use to him right now. The only thing it could do right now was to give himself a shield to absorb some damage.

"I need to unlock some skills. Without necessary skills, xenoic energy is useless."

Then Logan remembered the gold he had been saving. Now was the ideal time to use them all.

"Shop."

A new interface opened before him, containing a variety of sections such as weapons, armors, special equipment, consumables and skills and abilities. As long as a player had some gold, they could buy anything from the shop that they felt a need to have.

However, the weapons and armors section was rarely worth visiting. Since the items listed there were overpriced and only half decent. That was the reason most players preferred buying things from random NPCs or trading with other players.

Since he already had enough 'consumable' items, Logan navigated his way towards skills and abilities. There weren't a lot of things he could buy because of both gold required and level constraints.

"Let's go for this one."

"Yes."

By name, these attacks might seem similar to what Logan had been doing till now, but these skills were different. Each of the attacks had a different effect. Whenever the skill [Horizontal Slash] hit the target, the caster would gain 50% of the damage done as a shield that would last for 5 seconds.

Similarly, [Vertical Stab] would give the caster bonus damage, that would apply to all the enemies the caster hit within a 5 seconds interval. And finally, the [Slanting Thrust] would regenerate HP equal to 20% of the damage done to a target.

All in all, these basic skills were good. Especially because the Kukris were going to be Logan's weapon of choice for quite some time. But that wasn't the only reason Logan learned these skills.

"I already knew that." Logan smiled. "I just wanted to check whether it worked the same as before. Now that I know it for sure, let's go haywire."

Logan had only heard and read about the dungeon he was in on the game forums. He had explored it himself, but since things were different, he wasn't taking any chances and went all out in spending gold.

"Let's get this too, and this. That should be enough for now."

These two abilities were of rare rank. While any player could buy [Frost Chains], which was an AOE (Area of Effect) slowing-effect skill, only a creationist could get their hands on the skill [Blueprint Advancement].

The skill did exactly as the name suggested. It could upgrade any blueprint the user had. The only drawback was that the user could only use it once a day and it could enhance any blueprint in the creationist's arsenal by one grade.

"Alright, now I'm good to go." Logan took a deep breath and pushed open the door leading to the last chamber of the dungeon.
