ARIEL'S POV
I calmly removed Mirabel's hand from my hand and gave her a soft smile, "Ma'am you must be mistaken, were would you possibly see someone as lowly as me." I said sarcastically but either Mirabel didn't catch on or she just pretended to be dumb, "oh, sorry for the bother then." Mirabel said with a sweet smile that disgusted me to the bones, how could someone be so fake?
VINCENT'S POV
After watching the audition I decided to leave, it was almost time for me to pick my little sunshine from school, I couldn't wait to see her, apart from work, I don't think anything else can surpass the importance my daughter has in my heart.
Somehow I was grateful for that night happening which enabled me to father such a beautiful child.
"Daddy!!!" I heard her sweet voice call out to me, melting my heart immediately and I could just feel my cold signature emotionless face cracking.
"How are you princess?" I asked immediately picking her up from the floor, "Very fine." She giggled pecking my cheeks lightly.
"What about mommy? She didn't come?" Anna questioned looking into the car probably expecting her mother to show up from it.
As much as I loved Anna, the same thing could not be said for Mirabel, I know that we had a very intimate moment that night but ever since she came to my doorstep with Anna, I just couldn't bring myself to love her.
Sometimes I felt like Mirabel and the girl I laid with were two different people, and of course I did a DNA test between Anna and me and it was a match.
I have tried several times to look into what had happened that night but it always came to a dead end and at last I gave up.
Due to the fact that I couldn't see myself marrying Mirabel, I gave her the title of my fiancée so she could stay by Anna's side as a mother.
"Mommy, had a shoot to do so she couldn't come along." I said in a stiff voice, placing my daughter at the back seat, I was not very comfortable lying to her but currently I had no choice.
The driver started the car and drove off, while I brought out my tablet to do some work, when the question that Anna asked next threw me off balance.
"You don't like mommy, do you?" She said playing with her fingers with a slight pout on her mouth.
I was too stunned at first to speak because for that question to come out of a five year old child it was definitely crazy, "Anna, you really shouldn't be poking your nose in adults busy okay? And why won't I like your mommy, you two are my favourite." I said trying to coax her not to think about it any longer while my insides turned with disgust when I mentioned Mirabel to be my favourite person.
"Good, I heard the other kids in school saying daddy would son chase mommy away and leave me all alone." Anna chatted away not noticing the change in the atmosphere of the vehicle.
I was beyond furious, wondering kids in school would say such a thing, I immediately brought out my phone to text a number, I'll make sure every one of them paid for trying to mess with my daughter.
"Don't mind them Anna, mummy and daddy will always stay together forever." I said gently patting her head, as I tried to control the urge of retching.
UNKNOWN POV
Ariel got back to the hotel and wrote everything that happened that day before mailing it to the director, there was no worries about being tracked because the line was untraceable and only the best of the best could crack the code.
Just before Ariel could close her laptop, a strange mail popped up and she clicked on it out of curiosity, and it read, "There is a secret you most know." Aside that there was nothing else leaving Ariel in total confusion as she wondered what it was all about.
Deciding not to think about it, Ariel just closed her laptop and went to sleep, shooting does not start till the next month, but before that there would be a banquet for some reason.
If she is able to plan things we'll enough then it will be the perfect opportunity to strike Vincent dead, and leave this country as soon as possible with Jason.
The time for her to return wasn't ripe yet, so she wanted to get over with the mission and leave.
"Mom?" Jason called out his mother when he noticed that she pulled him into her arms.
"Shush baby, nothing is wrong." Ariel said hugging Jason tightly, even though she is the strongest assassin, and one would think it was cool to have such a title in an amazing job, but there was one tiny problem.
Like every good thing had their bad side, as for Ariel, ever since she became an assassin she couldn't sleep well because in her dreams, people she killed in the past always come to hunt her and it was torturing, most times she used a sleeping pill but they didn't help and now Vincent was going to be added to the people on her list.
