Returning Back (4)

That word sent a shiver down my spine and I was jolted out of my seat to look at the person standing behind me. I had not even recovered completely from the previous wounds given by Cameron and to have them again was too terrifying but then again the voice didn't belong to the owner of that sentence so I turned around to see that it was James.

I placed a hand on my chest as I looked at him "Are you crazy?"

He laughed "Look at how terrified you are, what if it was really your husband."

I glared at him but then I suddenly realized that he was not supposed to be here, how did he come to know about this?

I looked into his eyes and asked "What are you doing here?"

He didn't answer me but instead walked towards me with a sinister smile, although I knew that he would not do anything to me, I was still scared. He said with a commanding tone "Come here"

How could I go over to him when he said that with his sinister voice coupled with a sinister smile, I didn't show it on my face that I was scared as I said "Why are you here and what do you want?"

He smiled "Be good and listen to me or don't blame me for the consequences."

I didn't know why but because of his treat, I halted and looked at him "What do you want?"

He smiled and with his next move he scooped me into him arms making me sit on my seat. I gulped and he slowly lowered his head towards me and held my chin then his cold voice followed "Did you really think that you could escape this time?"

I pushed him away but he was to strong to be pushed away by my mere force so I looked at him and said "Why don't you leave me alone, I had been living well without you, why do you need to interfere now?"

He looked into my eyes and asked "Can you say it that you can live without me, that you don't feel anything towards me?"

How could I admit to his words even though they were true, if I told him that he was right that he would insist on following me no matter what. Even if I told him that it was for his own safety that he had to stay away from me, he would not listen so I had to lie but the problem was it was too difficult to lie in front of those eyes, those deep brown eyes that were trying to suck the truth out of my mouth.

I looked away and said "What makes you think that you are so likable?"

He pulled my chin and made me look into his eyes once again "Is that so? Then look into my eyes and say the words that you don't have any feelings towards me."

This time he didn't let me look away but then I thought to myself that you have to say these words to make him go away so that he can stay safe. I took in a deep breath and said "I don't like you."

I could say those words easily because it was the truth, I didn't like him but I had fallen for him deeply that way I was not lying to him and he would not persist on staying by my side.

The problem was that as always he did something that was against my plan, he smiled coldly "Ha, you are too good a liar that you can lie to a person's face without hesitation but don't worry I will go with your words, if you don't like me then I will stay by your side silently and protect you. I will help you with all the things so that you can become stronger but if you think that by saying those words I will leave you alone then you are wrong."

I looked at him completely tired and helpless "Why must you do this?"

He looked into my eyes and said with the most sincere expression on his face "I want to do this because I admit that you have become an important part of my life and I want to be there for you, I don't know what these feelings are but I want to be by your side all the time, I want to kiss you, I want to taste every bit of you. Whenever I am by your side I have these feelings that I can't control, I just don't want you to be away for me even for a moment and even if I can't do anything to you, I at least want to keep seeing you with my eyes."

My eyes were burning with tears that I prevented to fall down and my heart felt full with his words, what could a person want, someone to treat them as a precious jewel. It was so great that he wanted to treat me like this even after knowing that I had a daughter.

He was now sitting next to me and I didn't speak for some time as I was trying hard not to cry and now I knew that no matter what I did he would not stop following me so I could only rest back and say "Do whatever you want but don't expect me to reciprocate your feelings."

From the corner of my eyes I see his lips curve up into a smile and shook my head thinking that he would eventually give up if I didn't return his feelings so I decided to let him follow me, it was not as if we didn't have any vampires in our castle, he could be another addition to them.

I could not help it but my heart to felt a lot at ease but I suppressed my smile and after a peaceful journey we soon reached the place.

This time I entered the gates of the land and headed straight towards the castle until I was standing in front of the huge familiar doors which I had decided never to enter again.
