CHAPTER 15

THE NEXT DAY...

After school,Trina got home,took a quick shower and put on a close fitting mini pinafore over her turtleneck white sweater and a black 2inch heels.

She hummed happily as she opened a jewel case which contained a half heart pendant. She had to admit she was happy and excited to see her mom who wanted to celebrate her birthday with only her.

Maybe she had come to realize that she was wrong and was going to set things right especially between them.

She quickly wrap the gift into a gift bag,grab her handbag and headed to' G-chicks luxurious restaurant where her dear mother had made reservation for them.

Trina walked into the restaurant with huge smile on her face but it all fades off into a frown. She clutch her hand together angrily piercing her sharp nails into her skin,she felt her eyes becoming moist.And she again had fallen for their betrayal again.

She glared at her Aunt Franca and Vera who secretly had a smile on her face. "You Lied!!You said it was just you and me but you lied.How could you,Chloe!!".She roared.

The everyone in the restaurant stopped whatever they were doing to see what the commotion was all about.

"Aunt never mean to lie but she had to so you could come...if you knew we were here you won't come and that's why she had to lie,please do forgive her,she cares for you so much-".

"Just shut up Vera!Isn't this what you wanted?For them to hate me,haven't you done enough huh?you took Aiden,my company,my house and now my mother.What wrong have I ever done to you!!!".She yelled,tearing up already.

"Can't you act reasonable and sit down people are watching!".Her mother muttered,speaking through her teeth.

"Aunt please don't talk like that,our Trina is indeed reasonable,she's just-".

"STOP ALL THIS!It irritates me" Trina roared and pushed Vera to the floor.

"You Witch!!".Franca landed a hard slap across her face that made her lose her balance.

Trina held her cheek as tears stream down her eyes.

"My daughter is so kind to say all this to you,you wretched girl,you should be grateful".Franca retorts.

Trina glared at her mother with nothing but hatred and disdained.She got to her feet and said."Did you see that?Did you see how Aunt protected her daughter from me but you,you just sat there.Why?Why?Am I really your daughter?Answer Me!!!".

"Trina don't say that--".

"SHUT UP!" She growled as she grab a fork and strikes it at Vera's face causing her cheek to bleed.

"Hey!".Chloe landed a slap across her face."You caused this Trina,you caused this distance between us,only if you didn't turn crazy, perhaps we would still be in good term.I lost my husband too,I had to be strong for you but here you are calling me a betrayer.A lunatic like you don't deserve Aiden or to run your father's company!!"

Trina burst into an uncontrollable cry as Franca strode at her and started hitting her with all her might.

Trina couldn't believe her mother called her a lunatic,her words pierced through the heart even her aunt beaten couldn't be compared to the pain she felt in her heart

Vera smiled happily, she was overjoyed with happiness until she heard...

"HOW DARE YOU!!!".Someone said and it was none other than Asher Lee.

Asher decided to visit his Uncle Baldwin at his restaurant,so they arranged to meet at the front of his restaurant.

"Uncle".He sang and embraced him.

"Long time no see,come in,come in".He opened the door to his restaurant and was welcomed with a commotion by four women,two olders and two younger women."What in the world is going on here!!".Balwin voice echoed.

"We apologize".Chloe quickly said and then glared at Trina."Get up and apologize now!".She commanded.

"Get up you lunatic...you caused it,you ruin your mom's birthday too,have you no shame.Get up and apologize and stop acting like the victim!!".Franca yanked her wrist violently. "I say get up Trina!".She yelled.

Asher eyes widen in shock as he heard that name.'Let it not be her'.He hoped.

"STOP!!".His voice carried authority that made them all stop only Trina sob could be heard.

He made his way towards the so called Trina and said,wanting to confirm."Trina".

As soon as Trina heard that soft voice,her heart stopped. 'She could recognize that voice from anywhere'.

What the hell was he doing here,he could not see her like this.'What was to be done?'.

"HOW DARE YOU!!".They all heard him say sounding guttural."Did you know how excited she was to meet you yet...yet this what you do to your daughter.How cruel of you!".He spat.

Trina didn't want him to defend her.'Damn him'.Why was he so warm hearted.

Angry at herself,she stood up and ran off.

"Trina!!".And he chased after her.

Asher finally stop to catch his breath after he got hold of her."Trina-".

"Let go Asher,leave.Go".Instead of him going,he held her close into his arms.

And she sobs harder."Asher,Asher it hurts".She confessed.

He held her in his arms,caressing her back,whispering to her it was all okay.

She cries until she had no tears left to cry.

Realizing what she was doing,she quickly took a step back from him creating a good distance between them.

"Am sorry".She apologized,staring at his shirt which was soak with her tears.

Again he pulled her back to his hardened chest.

"Stay as long as you want.Am always here to give you a shoulder to cry on".And he bestowed a charming dimpled smile and uses his thumb to wipe her tears.

She was greatly flattered by his sweet gesture.She hugged him back and rested her head against his chest and listened to his heartbeat which seems to calm her down and she found herself leaning back to sleep.

Sensing she was asleep,Asher lowered her into his arms and carried her into his car.

Meanwhile Vera sat in her room staring at the scar on her face."Thankfully,that lunatic didn't disfigurement my pretty face,the scar will probably disappear in two days.

Remembering that worried and caring looks in Asher's eyes as he stared at Trina made her frown.

He even ran after her.'What is their relationship?They seemed pretty close?.And here she was thinking he wouldn't find that her cousin interesting but now she had to worry.

She can't let Trina win again.

Thankfully he didn't see her...

The door open as Franca step in.

"What happened to knocking?Why do you like invading my privacy!!".Vera yells.

"Sorry darling,I was just curious,that gentleman at the restaurant is Asher Lee,right?".

"Prince Asher Lee".She corrected. "The youngest handsome millionaire,the top student in Elite college,the son of a billionaire and the man I want.Trina wants to take him away from me".

"Shh,mummy won't let that lunatic get what belong to you,listen Vera".Franca says as Vera came closer.

"Am all ears".

"I want you to capture his heart just as what you did to Aiden,make him yours, obey you and no one else-".

"And love me...don't worry mom I never fail".Her and her mother exchange mischievous smiles.
