Jack's heavy sigh echoed through the dimly lit corridor as he made his way towards the kitchen, the anticipation of the familiar ritual of acquiring a bag of blood lingering in the air. To his surprise, Anetia appeared, standing at the corridor with a smile that seemed out-of-place with the typically serious atmosphere of their surroundings.
A sense of wariness enveloped Jack as he caught sight of Anetia's smile. He found solace in Anetia's stoicism, Jack felt strange around Anetia especially when he was smiling. He preferred him stoic at least he looked less suspicious.
Nevertheless, Jack reciprocated with a polite nod, unsure of what lay ahead.
"Follow me, Jack. We need to talk," Anetia's words hung in the air, laced with a gravity that immediately triggered a surge of concern in Jack. The mere mention of "we need to talk" from Anetia often signaling something has happened. The news might be good or bad.
