The Power of Darkness

Lin Cian heard metal swinging in the air but without a thought, Lin Cian know what it was. He dodged back as far as possible.

The two sabers that lay on the ground tore the air to find their way to Doaren's hands while he pounced on Lin Cian. When the swords were on their way to slay Lin Cian; the schemer just bounced back and escaped the inevitable in a hairline.

Doaren's eyes darkened, he screamed as if he was seeing his enemy and started to swing and slash at Lin Cian like a barbarian who knows nothing but to kill.

Lin Cian who has perfect eyesight paired up with his good reflex somehow managed to escape the slashes of his skill the double swing with his skills dodge and glide.

Double swing is a skill created by Doaren himself. He uses both his swords and swings them constantly in a whirlwind motion slaying anything in a way. He leveled up in this technique by switching directions then controlling the time needed to activate the skill and at last by embedding the skill into his muscle memory.

At his level, he can use the double swing just like other skills where it will take no time to activate. His flow in the art was very perfect and faultless. Switching from the double swing and the slashes then pairing them up with thrust Doaren made sure that Lin Cian was having a tough time.

Of course, Lin Cian had a tough time but he somehow managed to escape using his dodging skills; at the last moment. Par to Doaren's double swing, Lin Cian's skills were elegant and the transition was smooth like the flow of water in a stream but the afterimages that appeared confused Doaren for a second.

The afterimages look the same as Lin Cian; only after slashing the afterimage did Doaren know that he has slashed an afterimage but not the real Lin Cian. Doaren's rage started to show up and he started to throw slashes in the fiercest way possible as he transitioned was very dazzling.

A black but perfect crescent shape slash appeared out of the thin air but was quickly dodged by Lin Cian. When the slash hit the ground; the area attacked by the slash released a black smoke; it devoured the plants in the area condemned by the dark aura.

"So this is the power of your darkness!" Lin Cian taunted Doaren.

When he again raised his sword to throw a slash at Lin Cian, Lisa jumped in between them. Her eyes were closed facing Doaren and she covered her face with her hands when Doaren swing his sword unnoticed of her existence in front of him.

Doaren quickly retreated his swords from the unmoving lady in front of him covering her face with her hands and stared at her as if he was asking if she is ok.

Still, she covered her face but looked through the finger gaps; at the young man breathing in agony and despair. Retreating her fingers and fisting her hands below her nose and looked at him in an attempt to calm him down.

When Lin Cian attempted to speak without a second Lisa impede him "shut your fuc**ng mouth" her words were heavy, she glared at him looking like an enemy.

"I didn't me..."

"I said shut the fu** up" her eyes lit up with deadly stares at Lin Cian.

Without an option other than curling his tale and walking out of the scene Lin Cian walked out of the scenario where Lisa calmed Doaren with her sweet talks and stuff. Lin Cian smiled and nodded internally while moving out.

Lisa is a caring person but unfortunately, her parents were dead at a young age and she was found in the streets by an elderly man when she was running from the dogs chasing her. Feeling those suppressed minutes of her life she felt sympathy towards Doaren who lost all his hope just like her; when she was a child.

She always supported him and stayed by her side no matter what happened as a result, Doaren almost peeled off the skin of a person who tried to misbehave with her. They became friends over time and started to depend on each other emotionally.

Lin Cian and Doaren became close after that and they started to spar with each other but Lisa always made sure that the spar was on friendly terms. Eventually, Lin Cian would guide Doaren and he got better in his cultivation.

As his cultivation grew stronger Lisa worried that Doaren will let go of her but Doaren always made sure to check Lisa; no matter how busy he was.

Since Lin Cian was his brother, what is he supposed to do with a pair of lovebirds around other than letting them sing duets and fly over the sky, high as the clouds get touched by their wings; floating in the wind; nothing to worry about.

Alas! this idiot was completely different and his actions were unable to predict. Other than spoiling their mood he had nothing to do those days he stayed in the Beginners Knight Academy. But the bond between Lisa and Doaren grew stronger, as well as the relationship between the two brothers.

As the days passed by Lisa set herself at ease with Lin Cian and Doaren getting together. She even put her full support into it when she learned they were brothers. The days the brothers were together, she could see the delight in Doaren's face but she was also scared of it getting disappeared. She always cherished her time with Doaren and tried her best by always staying by his side.

During the days in the academy, Lin Cian told Doaren about his adventures and the people he met; Lisa also joined them as if she was interested in hearing about the venture of the former alumnus. He never pointed out that he met Kuo Jian a few days before because that may pierce the heart of Doaren when hearing how helpless his twin is to find him.
