Prologue

"Come Alexa, time for bed." She turned around as she heard a sweet voice behind her. She grabbed her toy shield and runs toward her mother. "Mother? When will the war end?" Alexa asked her mother as she lay down on her bed. "The war will only end when Daxthar is freed from his chains, my love." The child looked at her confused. "Chains? Is he in jail?" Her mother laughed at the innocence of her daughter. "No my love. Daxthar is a lot of things. And you're too young to understand." Alexa frowned. "I'm not too young! I'm a woman, a warrior. I'm going to be a warrior just like my father." Alexa said as she grabbed her toy shield. Her mother laughs and takes her shield away from her. "I'm sure you will. Now go to sleep, my child." She said as she kissed her on the forehead.

As the lights turned off Alexa faced her window and looked at the sky filled with dark clouds. "I hope that Daxthar will be free from his chains." She whispered as she closed her eyes to sleep.
