Wet dream?

(At a police station)

"What in the world happened there?!" shouted the police squad captain upon hearing the report regarding the jewellery robbery that just happened. He had a frown on his face as he listened to his two team members that were there at the time recounting the event.

"It wasn't our fault. He acted too fast! By the time we reacted, he already handled the robbers and left!" stuttered the reporting officer nervously.

"We have tasers for a reason! You are all obviously slacking on the job and are in need of more training!" reprimanded the captain, not satisfied with their actions at the least.

"But the were armed! We were afraid to alarm them, causing them to harm the people in the surroundings and taking hostage!" said the other officer quickly, trying to reduce their punishments by quickly recounting the equipment of the robbers.

"You should let them off for now captain." said an aged but experienced voice.

"But chief-" started the captain only to be interrupted by the police chief.

"I have seen the robbers, they are moderately armed with guns and DIY bulletproof vests. Your officers have done all that they could, considering they were patrolling the street and were woefully unequipped to handle that situation as to how you would have liked. They already did quite well by trying to stall for time and calling for reinforcements." replied the police chief towards the people in the meeting room.

"Well if you say so chief. Hear that you idiots! I'm letting you off, for now, there won't be the next time!" reprimanded the captain towards his squad's two officers.

"Sir, yes sir! Thank you chief!" replied the two officers before leaving the room with haste, not wanting to get into any more trouble than they already are.

"Captain, what do you think of the man who stopped the robbers?" asked the chief as the two officers left.

"I think he is obviously trained very well. He could very well be part of other law enforcement bodies such as the swat or maybe the FBI."

"Hoh... what makes you say that?"

"According to what is described by the people we interviewed, his movements were quick and the actions he had done obviously shows that he is skilled in anti-personnel combat. Since he did not hesitate in employing lethal methods to handle the situation shows that he could either be part of the syndicate and mafia or part of an advanced task force that handles terrorists that could not be handled using typical means."

"Nice observation you have done but I do not think you are correct in your assumptions as some of them are just too willful. We shouldn't make any wild guesses lest we get into some trouble."

"Well, I guess I was being too hotheaded. Unfortunately for us, his face was not captured on the surveillance camera. Meanwhile, the crowd was too surprised to have done any recording too. This saves us some trouble from the media since they can't really blow up any drama without any evidence or photos, though I can't say the same if the higher-ups decide to step in to deal with him." analysed the police captain about the current situation.

"Just leave that to me to deal with. We should focus on more important matters beside some wild goose chance for the man since we don't even have any leads." said the chief while patting the shoulder of the captain with encouragement.

"Well, it is your call chief. I guess I better get back to my work now. All the best, and I'll see you later."

Giving up on pursuing the issue, the captain shrugged his shoulder and left the meeting room while waving a hand to say his goodbye to the chief.

*Sigh*

"That's all I can do for you kid. Luckily you did not leave any traces behind. As a close friend of your parents, I will try my best to help wherever I can." sighed the chief in exhaustion. He looked outside the window of the meeting room as he sorted out his thoughts. Feeling that someone was looking at him, he looked around the street only to see a figure that he is rather familiar with walk away from his sight.

Looking at the figure that he recognises as Alma Laune, the son of his close friends and ex-teammates of the police squad. He wondered about how everything had turned out as they did. The old chief looked back on the situation a few days ago, where Alma was brought into the police station to take his statement regarding the issue of almost getting stabbed and shocked with a taser.

The old chief has ordered his release as soon as possible upon receiving the related evidence, not wanting Alma to stay at the police station for too long. Upon meeting Alma personally to process his release, he noticed Alma's current situation has worsened.

"Though I am not sure about how much longer you can keep this going. Even now, I am not sure if you can even remember me anymore. Just try to stay safe and do what you want to do. I promised your parents to look after you both the best I can, and I will keep my promises." muttered the old chief with the determination that he would see it through to the end. That he would stay by the side of the adorable young boy that used to call him uncle, until the end, as he knew, that there wasn't much time left for Alma.

------------Years ago-----------

"Alma~, stop playing around and go bring your little sister here. It's time for dinner! And Honey~, look after the kids as well! Don't just sit there enjoying the trouble." said a rather mature-looking lady from the kitchen.

"Yes, mom~" replied Alma, who is currently 5 years old, with a happy voice as he is looking forwards to today's dinner. They were going to have chicken curry.

"Haha, yes alright, honey. I'm on it." chuckled a man with a rather chiselled muscular body as he stood up from the couch. Looking at the joyful Alma which is skipping around, the man's eyes gleamed as he quickly took action.

"Kyaa~" shouted Alma in surprise as he is caught in the hands of his father, who promptly moved him onto his back, letting Alma ride on his shoulders.

"Let's gooo~, adventure! Hahaha." laughed John, Alma's dad, as he carried Alma and went looking for his beloved baby girl.

"Yeah~" cheered Alma as he went along on the ride while using his hands to hold onto his dad's head for balance.

"Huh~, I thought it would already be a handful with two little kids, how did I end up with one more big kid as well. Hahaha~" chuckled Marianne, Alma's mom, while looking at her son and husband horsing around. Moving her hands while continuing to cook, she hummed a little while enjoying the joyful sounds of her family as the background.

"By the way, set up some extra plates as well because Henry is coming over too with his family for dinner." reminded Marianne to her husband while setting down the chicken curry.

"Sure, sure. The more the merrier right, Alma?" replied John with a smile as he looked towards Alma who smiled brightly at the thought of more people coming to play.

"Yay~ Big uncle Henry is coming~"

"Haha, then let's hurry to set things up. Go, go~"

--

"Thanks for having us over John and Marianne. We really appreciate it." said Henry after dinner has ended.

"No problem at all, since having the kids play around is more lively as well. Besides you just live over at the next street. So it isn't any trouble at all." chuckled Marianne as she went to tuck her children into bed after they had tired themselves out after playing.

"We're all close friends for years now, why the formality? But you seem to have something to tell us, what is it?" smiled John as he became curious after looking at his old friend Henry that seems to be having trouble starting the topic.

"Yeah, don't worry about anything. If you are having any troubles, we will lend you some help if you need it." reassured Marianne upon seen the troubled look on Henry's face.

"Well, I am not sure how to start but here goes. I have received the results from the doctor. The one that you asked me to check and double confirm." said Henry as the air in the room became serious.

"....so, how is the result. Is it true?" asked Marianne hesitantly.

"Unfortunately, yes. I have confirmed it with the doctor properly. After hearing this, what are you going to do?" confirmed Henry as he passed the medical records towards the husband and wife pair.

*Sigh*

Reading the file, the two released a sigh as the made their decision.

"What else can we do? We will accept him as he is, no matter what he will become." said John as he processed the situation.

"He is our son, and nothing can change that. We will just have to give him more love and care. No matter what, he is still our bright baby boy." reaffirmed Marianne as she decided that no matter what, he is still the child that she loved dearly.

"I see. Then, I can only wish you all the best. If you need help or anything, just tell me. I will try my best to help." said Henry as he saw the determination and resolve of the couple.

"Thank you so much." replied the two.

"Don't worry, that is what best friends are for. Besides that, I have something else to tell you. Don't worry, this is about my family and it's not anything bad." said Henry and he reassured the two before deciding to change the topic.

"I see, No worries, we won't judge. So what do you want to tell us?" asked John.

"I am getting finally getting promoted." said Henry finally with a somewhat constipated face.

"Well, congratulations I guess? You finally got promoted, so what's that face for?" said John, confused at the reaction of his friend.

"Well, I am being transferred to a new post. Therefore, my family and I will have to move to a new city." said Henry as he finally laid out his situation to his close friends who had worked together for years in the same team in the police force.

"Well, it is your dream, right? Which man doesn't have any ambition? Go ahead if you truly want to. Just know that we will always support you." reassured John with a smile.

"Yeah, so don't worry too much ok? Besides, it is not like you are moving away forever. You could come to visit us anytime you like. you are always welcome here." said Marianne calmly as she comforted Henry.

"... Thank you guys so much for your help and support." said Henry emotionally after hearing the supportive voices of them both. Settling down his bubbling emotions, Henry said " You guys are right. Besides, you guys are also welcome to visit us anytime you like once we are settled down in the new city."

"Haha, don't mind us taking up your offer then. We might just visit you next time we plan for a holiday." smiled John and Marianne happily as the atmosphere in the room became more joyful as they continued their chat laughing and joking.

Meanwhile, in the bedroom upstairs, Alma is currently coaxing his little sister to sleep.

"La la la~"

Singing a little melody to soothe his sister, little baby Amelia finally fell asleep sucking on her thumb.

"Umu~" giving a little satisfactory hum as though he had just accomplished a great feat, little Alma could finally now get to bed. He started to move towards his own bed only to stop as he felt something holding onto his sleeve. Realising it was Amelia holding the sleeve of his pyjamas, he tried to remove her hand only to stop as he saw Amelia's brown furrow. Her hand continually grasping the air, she looked as though about to cry.

He gave a short sigh before giving up on getting back to his own bed. He entered Amelia's crib and held her hand before her furrowed brows finally relaxed, a happy little smile on her little face. Luckily the crib is rather big to account for the many plush toys that Alma's father had gotten for Amelia.

Pushing a few out of the way, Alma finally managed to find a comfortable spot that did not disturb his little sister before his mind finally drifted off to sleep.

---

In his dreams, Alma can feel a 'something' that kept reverberating in his deep inside him as he slept. It did not disturb him in the slightest, instead, Alma felt vaguely at peace. The feeling seemed to relax his whole mind as the 'something' become clearer. Eventually, from that 'something' a piece of information slowly surfaced.

[What do you desire?]

Within the subconscious mind, one tends to speak the truth. In the world of dreams, Alma could feel as though he is currently lying in a warm embrace. He listened closely as the sentence slowly repeated itself again as some glowing lights seem to separate from that 'something' in his mind.

[What do you desire?]

Listening to the sentence again, Alma seemed to see the starry sky as he looked towards the floating lights. His hands reached towards the various lights in his mind that resembled the stars in the star as though he could almost touch them. Some glowed brighter as they moved closer to him.

The lights gave out some information towards Alma as they glowed a little brighter. Alma could feel as though the lights are conveying something to him.

A figure swinging a sword. Solving the troubles of many.

A figure carrying a large stack of books. Discovering bits of knowledge, both new and old.

A figure distributing some items. Aiding the unfortunate.

A figure singing and dancing. Bringing joy and spreading happiness.

Many stories are making themselves known to him. Unclear though it may be, Alma could vaguely feel that if he were to grasp any one of them tightly, it will able to convey its whole story to him and he would become what is depicted in the story.

[What do you desire?]

Bringing itself to Alma's attention once more. The information that flowed directly from that 'something' seems to be telling him to make a choice. Looking at the many stars in the sky, Alma finally decided.

"To live a life worth remembering."

Just like the many stars in the sky. The many lights that told of a multitude of stories. He wishes to make his own story that is worth remembering.

[...]

Hearing his decision. The many lights slowly faded away and returned to the 'something' in his mind, leaving the sky in his mind empty of stars. With only the 'something' left floating above vaguely like a void in the sky. Suddenly, Alma can slightly feel the 'something' as though a connection has finally established themselves between them. Alma, feeling a slight connection to the 'something' that he didn't have before, felt as though something new is coming into being deep inside the 'something'.

[You have encountered a fate-changing event.

You have received an unknown fragment.

A new story is coming into being.]

Feeling a flow of information. Alma felt a wave of warmth wash over him, relaxing his spirit and making him feel very comfortable. Alma soon left the space of his mind and slowly fell into a deep sleep.

---

'Mmph. I feel so warm and relaxed. It is so comfortable. That was the best sleep I ever had.' thought Alma in his mind as he enjoyed the feeling.

'Wait a minute, why do my pyjamas feel so warm? So warm..... and wet.... huh?' Alma furrowed his brow before he opened his eyes with a snap. Looking at his little sister that was hugging his body, he realised that she had peed herself and stained his whole body.

'Welp, damn....' thought Alma as he wondered on how to get out of this mess as his little sister was still hugging him very tightly which prevented him from moving.

Eventually, Alma was saved by his mom when she came to wake both of them up from the bed. Although not without any embarrassment after being teased by his parents. Just another lively day for the family.
