The wind slash came in contact with Jason, Clark had made it wide enough to cut his body into two while still damaging the walls.
But what he did not expect was Jason's survival, the boy's body had a long cut that stretched from the left side of his body to the right.
Blood dripped out of the gash but what Clark had expected was the boy's body cut into half, this was his strongest attack that would even work well against a rank 4 dungeon boss.
Was the treasure he was using that powerful to boost a deficient boy to the same ranks of a rank 4 dungeon boss?!
The existence of such a treasure wasn't possible.
Clark suddenly had a dreadful thought, his mind wandered to a situation where he had been set up, he began tow wonder if the pact he had made with the masked man even true.
Clark sheathed his sword, he knew that staying here any longer reduced his chances of living after tonight by a large margin.
He darted to the girl in the edge of the room, she had been watching him closely for some time frozen in fear.
Clark held her hand of the girl tightly before moving through the open door with a speed he hadn't even tapped into since he arrived.
Jason, who was behind him was too slow to react to his sudden movements.
Clark didn't care about what was going to happen to the girl, he held her hand tightly as if he was afraid if he let go there was no return.
…
Jason stood startled, he felt a bit of pain spanning from a little bit below his abs and the effect of wind magic was still visible on the walls.
Even a rank 4 human would be severely wounded by an attack of such power, but Jason when compared to a rank 4 survived with barely any injuries.
This was because of his very, very low attribute with magic.
Stage 000 early
With this magic similar to his strength didn't have an effect on him, magic used by someone of a bit of a higher level than him had somewhat of a good effect but when it was done to someone that didn't have his kind of magic resistance the results were much better.
With this fault the system caused when he reached the right level of strength he would be practically immune to all magic of all types.
He saw the middle-age man dart towards Emily before grabbing her left hand and carrying her away.
Jason was fully aware of what was happening but didn't stop the man, he didn't want to be the star of the century if there were signs that he had managed to kill Clark.
Jason got into a runner stance, with a burst of speed he moved even faster than Clark!
Each step of his was light and propelled him further than the last, his eyes bore into the back of the man carrying the girl he had saved yesterday, there was no way in hell he would allow him escape.
In a brief ten seconds he had caught up to Clark, he punched the man in his back with some of his strength.
Clark's body couldn't take the pain as he let go of the girl and stumbled, Emily falling from his grasp and falling on the ground.
Jason didn't bother helping her, if he helped her it would be harder for him to catch up.
Clark's body re-stabilized itself before he could fall, he continued running although slower than before.
Jason moved closer to him to Clark, throwing a punch one more time but without holding back.
Clark's body was sent rolling through the air like a rag doll, the man couldn't believe the amount of power that was put behind those fists.
It had to be at least Rank 2 strength!
His body tumbled as it hit the ground, it finally stopped after some seconds, he stared into the sky as he realized that his time was up.
He was going to be killed by a dark-skinned boy, after he had cultivated his strength for his odd 30+ years since he awakened he was going to die.
Jason appeared in front of him, his features barely visible in the night.
Jason picked up the sword that was lying next to Clark, the middle-aged man could tell what was about to happen and tried to use his remaining strength to stop the boy.
Jason spared one glance at him, he had a look of pure disdain on his face before punching Clark on the face.
His two front teeth flew out of his mouth as they were forcefully ejected.
Clark felt more pain being added to the previous load that had been inflicted on him by Jason.
This time Jason carried the sword before unsheathing it, the steel surface reflecting his face.
For some reason even though Jason's appearance was almost impossible to see in the dark the sword reflected his appearance like a mirror.
'A special sword?' Jason wondered.
"Do you know that you are going to die?" Jason asked.
For some reason Clark was somewhat calm, maybe it was because of the pain he had been inflicting on the man since that death seemed good.
"Wait!" Clark was suddenly jolted out of his thoughts, a look of fear was plastered across his face.
"If you spare me I'll tell you about the person that wanted you dead." Clark spoke hurriedly, he realized that he didn't have much time left.
He would rather die in 10 years when he broke the pact than dying right now.
"I'm not dumb enough not to realize that I wasn't the target, the clan doesn't even regard me as a threat and nobody would want to waste resources to assassinate a dark-skinned boy." Jason said he places the sword right above Clark's head.
"They're really after you." He said hurriedly, but his fear was still laced in his words.
"I could care-less if they want to kill me but I'm too lazy to do so."
Jason moved in a fast pace bringing the tip of the sword done on the man's neck, he gasped for breath but didn't move, the moment the sword moved through his neck he knew he was done for and didn't resist.
Blood spurted out the wound as Jason dug further sinking the weapon through his neck, but the man before him still had that expression; one that knew he was done for and there was no reason to struggle anymore.
Jason twisted the sword several times before removing it and stabbing it in his chest to make sure he had died, a small pool of blood had formed around his head but Jason didn't care.
He had thought he wouldn't be able to stand blood when he saw it but he was very calm when he was face-to-face with it.
The moon was out, Jason looked at the pool of scarlet liquid as it portrayed his face.
Earlier with the sword he was only able to see a small portion of his face, his eyes to be exact. But now he could finally see his appearance.
Black hair, dark blue eyes that seemed to hold a mystery, nubian nose and light-brown skin.
On seeing that he was turning out handsome he had expected that he would smile, unfortunately all that he saw was a frown.
His morals were preventing him from enjoying the sensation of finally seeing his own expression, with a sigh he walked away.
The fact that he had just killed a human being didn't make him anxious, the fact that he had just admired himself using his victim's blood did not make him scared of himself.
Now Jason felt like he didn't even know himself...
...
The clan guardian watched all the events that had transpired with an amused expression, the entertainment was gold for her.
Unlike most clans that long ago made contracts with the strongest spirits the Hachiman clan had done something unimaginable, they had formed a contract with one of the strongest monsters.
She was bored, being one of the strongest she wanted entertainment more than anything and out of nowhere she was offered it.
She had readily accepted it, but after the first 30 years life had turned boring living in the clan and she couldn't go back; it was more like she didn't want to go back because this clan at least provided her some sort of entertainment.
She had decided that there would be some changes, she made sure that every elder was bald and there was no exception, but she quickly grew tired of that.
She had made a lot of more changes but none lasted longer than a year to entertain her.
But now she had stumbled upon a dark-skinned boy whom was stronger than a rank 4.
She could only imagine the sort of things he would do in the world.
They would surely be... extraordinary.
