Chapter 172: Eyes of Discontent

Ophir watched the oil float from his soup. Nevi always had the best food but this time Ophir can't bring himself to enjoy the meal. When they arrived ltheir food was an all out mushroom menu and serving. They heard from Lila what happened and they congratulated Lila for successfully establishing a new line coming from her own. Lila gladly connected with Kiel and Ain who are full of bondage all over their body.

Natalina's communication device allows them to view what is happening.

Kiel and Ain kept complaining how Cyrus, Cyprus, Evi and Waheb tortured them. Nevi and Urchin just laughed at the two. When Lehi's name got mentioned Ophir instantly twitched.

"Nope we haven't heared from them since they departed but according to father they are in good hands." Kiel answered.

Ophir unconsciously breathed with relief and calm one which made the whole gang eye him. Ophir just praised the food and diverted the conversation. When Kiel and Ain hanged up the meal went silent. Urchin played and threw a fit to cheer Ophir. Ophir just lull the five year old boy to sleep and had Lila tuck him to bed. Ophir received a cup of coffee from Mem and advised.

"You know what, It's fine to go through such process but at least try to connect with Lehi. I mean... she is a understanding woman. She will be able to help you."

Nevi contacted Lehi while Ophir is still outside. It took a while before Lehi got connected. Nevi can tell that her eyes were puffed and her face look drained.

"Hey your getting pale. Are you alright?"

Nevi quarried in concern. Lehi just nodded her head.

"How is your training going?" She asked forcing a smile.

Nevi talked about how Resh manipulated them and how the old man always bully them. Lehi laughed and Nevi caught a man's adorable feature from behind her.

"Who is that?" Nevi inquired.

Lehi introduced Ecles and the two just act as if they knew each other for a long time. Nevi laughed when he heared how Hexel passed out due to the hot spring soaking. When Lehi bid her good night she released a line that assured Nevi.

"Thanks for checking, I will be fine so don't worry. See you in half a month."

Nevi knew that Ophir's been standing from outside their tent. Nevi opened their tent and said.

"You heared her, so cheer up. You look deprived this past few days."

Ophir scratch the back of his neck and muttered a thanks.

"Nevi, I am just curious, how come the two of you did not glance at each other on a romantic lens when you look good together?" Ophir suddenly asked.

Nevi just answered obviously.

"Because we treat each other as family. I mean I grew up with her. Almost all of my memories are with her. And our houses are just a yard from each other. Despite all the teasing we received, we really just love each other like a family."

Ophir nod his head and said.

"Then I bet your angry that I am making her cry right now."

Nevi just shut his eyes and opened his lips.

"Honestly yes, but I know that it's not my place anymore. She is now married and those kinds of actions and motives are no longer from my spot."

Ophir said his good night and turned his back.

Urchin yanked Mem's shoulder as they trek deeper unto the forest. Resh led them to an island that he recieved as a gift from one of the people he saved and rescued. He never thought that this forest will be of used like this one day.

They walked through the thorny path and and rough mud. Leeches are all over that made Urchin wept. Lila even cried when a huge one landed on her thigh. Resh scheduled the training individually and it's Urchin's turn after the two days deliverance for Urchin. Resh fell ill and Mem got assigned for the physical reviews.

Resh called Ophir when he recieved the news from Ecles. Resh wanted to confirm if Ecles was right.

"So, how are you today. You look more tired than ever." Resh greeted.

Ophir replied a short "I am good."

Resh tilted his head and asked.

"How is your heart?"

Ophir swallowed thickly and said.

"It's in turmoil. It's sprained but I will manage."

Resh pressed his lips and asked.

" How long will it take to be calm?"

Ophir replied above whisper with transparency.

" I don't know."

Resh cleared his throat and said.

"As long as it won't take forever then it's fine. Just make sure that it's not someting similar with chasing the wind."

Ophir blinked his eyes and leaned back.

"I want to say that it's not but It is. My heart remembered something that I burried for too long and it's stirring a part of me that is hurting Lehi right now."

Resh acknowledge his honesty and spoke.

"She understand you more than we do and I know that she already knew about that. If she process this right then you might get an Acta Divertere."

Ophir looked at Resh and inquired.

"What does Acta Divertere mean."

Resh shortly explained as he tried to scare Ophir.

"It's a vow to unyoke or dissolve your marraige link."

Ophir just blankly stared at the vast sky as Nevi and Mem excused themselves to collect and check any food around.

Ophir can't believe what he heared. Ophir got speechless when Resh brought it up. It had him angry for even hearing a suggestion that he was trying to avoid.

When Ophir clenched his fist together and gritted his teeth. Resh's words pointed how his been selfishly treating Lehi since that incident. It does not also contribute how Resh directly spoke.

"But marraige is falling in love with the same person over and over again. You and I know that it is no longer applicable for you right now since your heart contained a different person from the start."

Ophir stared at the mark left by his wedding ring. His eyes blurred the view as his ringless finger visibly flaunt it's stigma.
