Is Daddy Jealous?

Before long, scarlet succumbed to slumber. Unbeknownst to her, a shudder rippled through her body at the sound of thunder, her unconscious mind reacting to the noise.

Ilvia hastily closed the window, determined to keep the rain at bay. With the task done, she draped a bedsheet over Kayla's body, before turning at the slightest touch.

Her gaze settled on her mistress' serene face, and soon enough, Ilvia herself was overcome by sleep, dozing off on the stool beside the dressing mirror.

Scarlet furrowed her brow, lost in yet another haunting dream that refused to leave her mind. The soothing music her father was playing never left her and the sound of the heavy rain.

"Silly girl, you won't share your sweat with me?" her father teased, his hands still on the steering wheel as he turned to face her.

"If you don't, daddy won't play with you," he added, a hint of playfulness in his voice.

"Is daddy jealous I gave mommy, and not him?" The little Kayla playfully teased in return.

Her father nodded in response, a wistful twinkle in his eye. "Yes, I am jealous of my little pumpkin and my beautiful wife," he confessed, a warm smile gracing his lips.

Her mother, as radiant as ever, donned a grey gown as she held her husband's right hand, gently caressing it as they both laughed.

Kayla joined in their laughter, feeling the warmth and love radiating from her parents. "Darling, did you enjoy your birthday party?" her mother asked, turning to face her with a playful wink.

"Yes-" Scarlet began to reply, before being interrupted by her father's appetite for munchies. Her mother giggled as she playfully scolded him for being jealous.

After sharing a few munchies with her dad, Kayla's attention was rudely snatched away by the sound of a high-speed trailer barreling towards them. In a split second, their car collided with the massive van, somersaulting in the impact.

She regretted it immediately. If only she had let her dad focus on the road, none of this would have happened. Tears streamed down Kayla's face as she tried to open her eyes, only to be met with a searing pain in her head.

Blood trickled down her chin, mixing with her tears. "Mom... Dad," she called out, attempting to crawl out of the wreck. But she couldn't, the shattered window glass preventing her escape.

In that moment, she knew she had lost everything, irreparably and irrevocably. There was no going back to change this moment, no turning back the clock. As she lay there, tears still streaming down her face, she hoped for a miracle.

As she stretched out her hand, her small fingers were unable to reach them.

In a desperate attempt, she tried to call out for help, but her voice was weak and failed her. She felt utterly miserable and alone.

Despite her longing for assistance, it seemed that no one was there to offer it, not even her own parents or their friends. She cried out for them, but there was no response. This was not normal. Her parents always answered her call, but now they were silent.

Kayla winced in pain as she moved, feeling a sharp twinge in her elbow.

"Dad... Mom..." She called out, tears streaming down her face. She wanted to hear their voices again, to tell them that she loved them and to share her favorite things with them. But it was all in vain. In a matter of seconds, everything had changed.

She heard footsteps approaching, causing her to lift her head slightly. She couldn't see anyone, only a looming shadow and a woman fighting the shadow that made her heart race with fear.

Who were they? She couldn't remember, as if someone was purposely trying to make her forget or bury her memories deep within her.

"Scarlet." She heard her name being called. This was the name everyone knew her by now. She relaxed her grip on the bed sheets and slowly opened her eyes.

The voice comforted and calmed her at the same time. She turned around, but saw no one. Had she imagined it, or was it Ilvia? She looked over to see Ilvia sleeping. Or was her mind playing tricks on her again?

She shuddered as she remembered her dream. The memories of that night haunted her, and she realized she was prone to bad things happening to her. It wasn't the first time she had seen something like this, and likely wouldn't be the last.

She curled up into a ball, holding onto her knees tightly. Who were they? Why do they appear to her? Who was the mysterious lady that continually appeared in her memories but she couldn't seem to recall? Why did she save her? Was it her cruel fate that led her to this moment? These were the thoughts that plagued her mind but she had no answers..

Fate was an unfeeling master, forcing her to make a heart-wrenching decision: to save her beloved parents or to succumb to the destiny chosen for her. Whoever was responsible for her fate, she wished to see them burn.

The memory of her family flooded her mind, their warmth and loving embraces filling her with longing. Those were the last moments she spent with them, the last time she saw them laugh and show their affection for each other. Those were also the last moments she experienced their care and celebrated her birthday with them.

When she thought she found love again, it was soon ripped away, leaving her with a broken heart.

She stood by the window, the rain now stopped and a sense of peace washing over her. She opened the window carefully, not wanting to wake up Ilvia.

Ever since her parents died in the rain, she had developed Astrophobia. The police instead of comforting her had blamed her and her parent for leaving the house when there was a report that no one should go out that day due to the heavy rain.

The night stretched on, her mind lost in thoughts as she gazed out the window. She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't even notice her surroundings.

She let out a deep sigh and was about to return to bed when she noticed a shadow. Her heart began to race in fear.

Were they coming to take her away? Why did they keep coming to her? And what did they want?

"My lady?" Ilvia's voice broke her from her thoughts, making her jump. The sleepy expression on Ilvia's face showed that she had just woken up.

"Why are you not sleeping, my lady?" Ilvia asked.

"Huh? I just wasn't in the mood to sleep," Scarlet replied, lying to avoid worrying her loyal servant.

Scarlet laid back down on her bed. "Would you like me to sing you a song?" Ilvia offered.

Scarlet nodded, and Ilvia sang a slow, soothing melody that brought back memories of love.

As she began to drift off to sleep, a sudden thought crossed her mind.

How could she forget that character? The one that had been abandoned in her memories and in the scriptwriter memories.

That character that could have a significant effect to jareth fate.

Creation is hard, cheer me up!
