Eve's Son

The door opens and she closes her eyes squinting she hasn't seen the light of day in so long she can't believe she'd rather find herself in the dark again.

"Charles stand." An elder requests already walking back to the tent.

All the elders in the room look calm nothing like what the others outside said and did to her.

"Do you have anything to say for yourself? The deed you committed is too big a crime to let you off with a slap on the wrist."

"It's not my fault you all didn't listen to me and abused the stones power, what did you expect me to do? Sing you praises for your obsession that consumed you?" Luna looks around the room waiting to be sent back to her dark room.

She enjoyed the time out but she prefers to be left alone in silence.

"Where is the stone? Without it we're powerless."

She shrugs her shoulders, "The stone is far from here and the people who have it aren't the type to just give it back especially considering that I'm partly the reason why they lost their unborn child. You do not want to trifle with the Tachibana's not right now."

Yuno shivers getting a sudden chill that worries Izumi she turns in his direction shaking her head, "You've been here all week Izumi, what's that about?"

Izumi reminds her about the coronation, "I was worried you'd be too sick to show up besides I'm right next door and Roku is working with the students so I'm taking his place as your personal assistant any work for me?"

Yuno picks up her patient file, "I'm about to take my rounds checking on patients and I think I have 2 doctors appointments scheduled today Roku honestly doesn't do anything, but hang around me to annoy me all day."

Izumi chuckles following Yuno to the first patient, a middle-aged woman who was brought in here after a robbery that went wrong.

"Miss Lung, how are you today?"

The patient smiles adjusting her sitting position Yuno looks relieved, "You're recovering very quickly 2 more sessions and you'll be out of here and the hospital can stop over charging you just because you do not have medical aid."

Miss Lung smiles, "I'm not worried my son will pay."

Yuno smiles moving on to the next room checking off names after seeing the patients.

She takes a break worrying Izumi with her heavy breathing like she was climbing mount Everest or ran a thousand miles he brings a glass of water for her.

"Are you okay?"

Yuno nods, "It's been happening a lot lately even completing a simple mundane task exhausts me."

Izumi checks the time, "Can't you cancel your appointments?"

Yuno cocks a brow sitting down behind her office desk, "You're not kidnapping me or anything of that sort I will be just fine."

Izumi looks out the window, "I'm not so sure about that." He mutters more to himself thinking and over thinking while Yuno rests for a bit.

Izumi looks at Yuno again he knows the next time Roku's watch starts moving they won't be able to hide the pregnancy any longer.

There's only so much magic can do in this case but soon she will be giving birth it will be ten times harder to protect her when everyone knows it's Ken's child.

Hiroshima without a doubt will stop at nothing when he finds out and powerful as he is Izumi knows he stands no chance against a schemer like him even when they were just kids Hiroshima outsmarted everyone in even the most simplest of things.

Yuno sighs and Izumi takes the make shift bracelet on her hand off.

"This is the reason you're so tired Roku forgets that a mortal's body is different from that of an immortal you can't handle so much magic unlike us.

He removes the tracker spell as well his eyes widen when he can feel his power being absorb Yuno stands up rushing to the bathroom to throw up.

Roku bursts in holding the clock, "Why the hell is it moving?"

"Magic, we need to stop exposing her to magic if we want it to be undetectable."

Roku cocks a brow, "How are we going to hide their growth?"

Izumi ponders the thought for a minute, "We do it old school that's how. From now on she'll have to ingest a little something something I had Setsuno grow for me in the green house."

"Herbs? That's bullshit there's no herb that will hide their growth."

"True, but this herb suppresses magic we need a way to stop their magic once we've done that we can only use one spell on Yuno so start deciding what we'll do."

Yuno walks out of the bathroom stopping by the vending machine deciding on a soft drink she's craving something sweet.

Ki stares at Yuno by the vending machine, "Poor thing, she couldn't deal with the stress of losing her child so she went on and got herself pregnant again to fill the void."

Ichika stands up from under the desk holding the patient file before turning back to the silver-haired woman in stilettos and a 5000-dollar hat with a matching dress.

The female turns to Yuno smacking the vending machine around for swallowing her money.

"Fucking piece of junk, why does this only happen to me?" Yuno kicks it one more time and three cans fall out.

"Is the void really filled though?" Ichika asks holding the woman's ID card searching for her according to the last time she was here, "Sorry miss, are you sure about the information you provided?"

The woman takes her card back, "The white haired that was over there she's the only Super here correct?"

Ki nods twirling in her chair accidentally knocking her colleague out of the way, "Yup, she's given this hospital a pretty great rep with her here we're looking at a 5% pay increase and that's a lot in the long run."

"How is she with the other employees?"

Ichika smiles, "Super, she's kind and hard working though her OCD is seriously annoying she made us stay late to organise our reception one time I think she's allergic to disorder, but either than that she's really good with her work, ability or no she was made to be a doctor."

The female smiles, "So, everybody here likes her?"

"How could you not? She's a really kind person once you get to know her plus her uncle is the next Emperor he's been very generous with his donations to the hospital."

Ichika closes her file and covers Ki's mouth, "You're not really here for medical reasons, are you? You're a reporter."

Yuno walks out of her office walking to the front desk, "Hey, mind calling Mrs Ryujin for me she's late for her appointment."

The woman smiles at Yuno who smiles back, "If you're free Miss, would you mind if I could ask you a few questions?"

Yuno checks her watch, "Not sure, it would be rude kicking you out when she arrives, what would you like to know?"

Tori runs into the hospital surprising Yuno, "Mommy!"

She turns her head smiling, "Hey, what are you doing here?"

Tori stands next to her with his back pack in hand, "Setsuno." Tori gives her the new Menu and flyer made by the students with two more students behind him.

"Oh, I forgot they'll be bringing students who want to be medics after high school to train here." Yuno picks up Tori so he can give Ki and Ichika the flyer.

"We offer, uhm, great se - fhvg with uhm." Tori turns his head smiling at the two students for the rest of the rehearsed speech, "Pancakes are nice."

Ki snorts at the last part of his speech, "Not bad using a cutey such as yourself to invite us over."

Ichika smacks her with the flyer, "We can call and order they deliver, would you like something?"

Yuno shakes her head seeing Ken walk in with take out from her new favourite place. "I think it's covered, is Ryujin coming?"

Ichika shrugs her shoulders, "She's not picking up."

Yuno takes out her phone calling her on another number.

Ken pecks her forehead taking Tori while she steps aside to talk to Ryujin.

"I'm on my way I just had a bit of trouble waking up."

Yuno sighs in relief walking back to the desk, "Is the tub ready? She said she's on her way,"

Ken glares at Yuno when she snatches her take out and waves him off he puts Tori on the reception counter, "Don't move I'll be back." Tori nods watching him follow her to her office.

"What's your name?" Ki asks Tori who shyly looks away he's not as fond of strangers any more.

Yuno pauses in her tracks bumping into Ken she was not aware he's behind her.

Ken slings her over his shoulder locking her in her office glaring at Izumi and Roku, "What are you doing Ken?"

He snatches the food back, "I came to see you not to be your delivery guy, what the hell was that at the counter?"

Yuno rolls her eyes, "Excuse me for assuming you're busy again this week."

"I am, but I'm free and you're free so I wanted to spend your lunch break with you."

Yuno sits down taking out her food, "I'll have to cut my break short Mrs Ryujin is on her way I have a packed schedule this week so I.." Yuno chokes on her noodles from the intensity of the glares coming from the three men in the room.

"It's your lunch time, what the hell are you talking about?" Izumi questions helping sort out her files in her cabinet close to the window.

"Mrs Ryujin asked for a favour and I .."

Ken finishes her sentence, "Thought it would be nice to help her out seeing as how you helped her Craptastic husband get back on his feet and she'd like the same thing."

Yuno nods, "Yeah, all that without the Craptastic though."

Izumi takes her jacket and turns it into a rope, "I forgot the uses of alchemy, but you just reminded me why I carry a philosopher stone everywhere I go."

Roku takes the rope and looks at the material, "This is similar to the ones Rex has in his case that he has hidden far far away might I add." Roku shrieks just thinking about all the crazy things Rex would do to him in his sleep with the many weapons he has.

"That's because the weapons are made from a philosopher stone, thought your old man told you about that at least."

Roku shakes his head, "He was more interested in building a destructive living weapon he didn't have time to worry about things like that they can't kill me."

Yuno burps after chugging down her drink putting her hand over her mouth, "Open the door Ken."

Roku sighs, "I told you to drink like a lady, see what you did?"

Tori's eyes follow Yuno running back into the bathroom he looks down and turns back to Ki who keeps smiling at him.

"Where's your brother?"

Tori smiles, "At school."

Kai groans walking in holding the food orders. He was nabbed from his mechanics class to be a delivery boy because their short on man power.

Rex and Saito are M.I.A so he's the only one they could ask. The students in the greenhouse are also on an excursion of their own while Tiyo flat out refused no matter how many times he was begged.

"Why the hell did I have to be a nice guy? It's because Akali is the one who asked me that's why" Kai is surprised to see Tori here, "Hey buddy, you good?"

Tori nods kicking his feet back and forth getting tired of waiting.

Yuno and Ken walk out of the office with Ken crossing his arms waiting for Yuno to cancel the appointment.

"Ichika just came back the room is almost set." Ki updates Yuno standing behind the reception table squatting down hiding from Ken while Tori lies down on his stomach looking down at Yuno who looks up smiling.

Ken sighs at Yuno being ridiculous he saw her hide, "Hi, Ichika correct?"

She bobs her head up and down before looking behind her in case there's another Ichika in the room.

"Yes, I'm Ichika."

"Great, call Ryujin and tell her to come back for an appointment during Yuno's working hours this one's cancelled, and if by any chance she decides to get out from under the table let her know she has to pick up Xavier I can't."

Yuno stands up and leans over the counter, "I can't either Ken you're picking him up this week."

Ken pecks her forehead before taking Tori, "See you at home and make sure he does his homework."

Mrs Ryujin walks in and Yuno thumps her head on the table, "Bury me in gold, she has crappy timing." Yuno's head pops up, "Where's that rich looking lady?"

All three of them look around, "Huh! She just up and disappeared, what are you going to do now?"

Yuno turns to Ki, "I'm not sure, he's crazy enough to send her away."

Ichika looks closely.

Ken turns to Yuno glaring in his direction. He groans his chest burning up.

"Are you alright Tachibana?" Mrs Ryujin asks concerned

Ken coughs up blood scaring Tori who screams running into Ki's arms surprising her.

"Why'd he come to me?"

Yuno turns to her, "Ken happened, he's been beyond over protective lately it's annoying. None of them give me breathing room don't even get me started on the number of times my sister has been here in the last month.

"He gave the boys these crazy strict rules and I'm worried he's spiraling he promised he'd keep me safe yet he didn't live up to that I can see the guilt eating away at him sometimes, but Ken being Ken won't let anyone in."

"He told them to not run to you?"

Yuno chuckles, "He told them to be gentle with me since my body needs time to recover. The boys being just kids worried about me just did what he told them to do, running into my arms was a no no."

Ryujin walks in after Ken finally let's her through. "I'm worried about him, is he alright?"

Yuno nods, "He's perfectly normal Mrs Ryujin follow me please. You coming Bobo?"

Tori walks behind Yuno so Ken follows.

Roku sits behind Yuno's desk, "Are you sure there's no other way? Ken's a great guy he doesn't deserve that."

Izumi rolls his eyes, "What's best for the children should be what's on your mind anything else shouldn't matter."

Roku glares at Izumi, "It should matter, what will happen with the two boys now? This is too cruel even for you."

"Who said I'm the one who will do it? I know a special lady who can get the job done."

"Still, it's too cruel."

"Fine, forget we ever talked about this I'll do it on my own."

Roku protests stopping Izumi from erasing his memory, "I'll help you I can get where you're coming from and in the long run it will only work in our favour I understand it's what needs to be done and it will be done."

The grey-haired female walks into the hotel room.

Himawari sits up from the bed, "Well? What did you find out?"

She shakes her head, "Nothing, everybody loves her but she might be pregnant again it's only speculation you can listen to the recording I made," she takes out the tape looking it over again and again. "Think this story will be enough to sell at the gossip column?"

Himawari rolls her eyes, "I don't care what you do with the recording but if you think you can make good cash out of it I'm okay with that just keep spying and come back with something I can use against her it is bound to spring up. Patience is the key to win this war."

The female turns her attention to Himawari since she was too preoccupied with the zipper on her tight fit dress, "What war?"

Himawari stands up looking out the window at the full moon, "The war to take back what's mine, my son, my baby daddy, and my place at the Palace throne, I was once his Queen and after one little accident his trust in me faded away I will do the same with her."

Roku slow claps while Izumi smirks, "You want to split them up? We can help out with that, got a plan? you'll need people close to them to get the job done right"

Himawari narrows her eyes, "Why would I trust you?"

Izumi flicks her friend across the room knocking her unconscious, "You will because you don't have a choice and you will because it's what you want it's also what I want."

Himawari looks shocked, "What's in it for you?"

"Her protection, with her all wrapped up in this mess with immortals Yuno will drag Kai and Tori in too deep and my family will be destroyed once again and our fall from grace will be like no other this time."

Tiyo smirks emerging from the shadows, "Mind if I hop on this train? I had a feeling Yuno was being stalked so I decided to investigate since her safety is my friends' number one concern if you need help keeping her safe I will help anyway I can."

Roku glares at Tiyo.

"Keep a level head Hiroshima he's got a specific skill set I'd like to polish up for the near future."

Roku takes a step back, "I say we test him first there's no way we're going to just trust anyone."

Izumi nods, "We'll give him a chance to prove himself if he screws up he dies, will that put a smile on your face?"

Roku smiles brightly, "You have no idea."

Himawari stares in disbelief and so does everyone in the room with Luna looking through the looking glass because they wanted to know who has the stones, "Can't you rewind the damn thing? I want to know why they would want to split them up?"

Luna rolls her eyes, "Because he doesn't plan to sit at the throne for a long time he has already chosen his successor and a successor caught in the wars between immortals is a successor that will not last at the seat of King.

"He has to separate his family from the eternals or suffer another loss. Losing her child didn't just affect her alone it affected all of us and soon you'll know why?

"The son of Eve has always favoured Lin's messing with them is the biggest mistake ever made death is what we'll beg for by the time he's done with us. All of us even the cowardly Empress in hiding can't escape her. None of you will."

An elder stands from her seat, "He will show mercy to those who side with his cause, make a call we'll offer up a truce or trade. We will not go down with you Charles this place will remain a sanctuary for piece and quiet for us and that will not change."

Luna laughs in mockery, "Kiss ass all you want his wrath will be like no other your last-minute good deeds will do nothing for you."

The elders look unphased, "We will offer your head on a silver platter if it'll please them, as long as she will take pity on us he will as well. We will win Yuno Lin over by any means necessary that I promise you."

"Yuno Lin this Yuno Lin that, what the hell is so special about her that the entire world has to revolve around her?" Luna clenches her teeth kicking the air in frustration.

"Some people are just born special and blessed with favour while others need to work and fight for it until they learn they weren't meant for it.

"Our fortunes are not the same and others have it easier than most that's just the way the world works, but we all have our moments.

"Why forsake the fact that she lost her child? The difference between her and other people is that you can't help but notice the good in her life while you can't help but notice the bad in others' it's really a matter of perception.

"She's no different from anyone else it's just your perception of her that has created such a false overview of her life and fate.

"But my dear don't forget that fate is a fickle thing life is what you make of it the sooner you learn that the easier it will be for you to see things for what they really are."

Luna stares at the old lady in confusion, "I seriously did not get a single thing you just said, kill me already why am I still alive?"

"We're not butchers and this is not a slaughter house, we'll leave the murdering to the murderers."

Luna murmurs to herself, "Yuno Lin this Yuno Lin that, what the hell is so special about the Lin family?"
