In the den of the Dragon

"Why would the Lord of the kingdom waste all these valuable resources on this waste of space?" The hand servant exclaimed to Crispin, the head of the Healing Mages, as he ground up many expensive medicinal herbs. "Just do as your told! If you continue to speak in this manner you will surely be put into the ill graces of his majesty!"

"Ha, you act as though he would leave his royal chambers to come check on this wastrel." said the hand servant. "Just do your job! I don't pay you to complain I pay you to grind herbs!" Crispin said angrily and smacked the hand servant across the back of his hand with a switch.

Meanwhile, Alexander was standing in the middle of a dimly lit room with an inch of water on the floor. There is no source of light in the room but nonetheless it is still dimly lit as if by a candle. "Hello?" He calls out to the area around him. He isn't sure of the size of the room but he can't see the light touching any walls. "Hello" he hears his voice echo back after a handful of seconds, "This room must be decent sized to carry my voice for so long."

SSSSSSSSSSSSS... a faint hissing sound is heard from around him, gradually growing louder and louder. He starts to turn around in circles looking for the source of the sound, but, to no avail. The noise continues to grow until its deafening, he goes down on his knees and covers his ears tightly.

"I see you've come to my domain puny human, what do you want?" A deep voice resounded from deep within the room. "Hello, Is someone there?" Alexander shakily asked to the surrounding darkness. "I think we have established that there is in fact someone here. Why don't you stop acting stupid and tell me what you want before I get angry you filthy human." the voice spit out spitefully.

Not knowing his surroundings or the origin of the voice, he sheepishly asks "Can you come into the light so I can lay my eyes upon you?" "A mere human wishes to see me the lord of dragons and serpents? Ha ha, you're funny for sure, if you truly wish to see me I will approach but be warned, my appearance has caused many men to flee in terror!" hissed the voice.

"I wish to know the face of my captor." Alexander said in a firm tone. "Captor? You're the one who has invaded my domain, yet, you call me a captor? I care not for your reasoning, anger me not or I shall feed you to my children!" The voice replied in an irritated tone. Alexander heard a shuffling sound like a great weigh being pushed across the floor. Suddenly a mass appeared at the edge of the light in the room.....

"I've come, prepare yourself or you shall surely flee in terror." the mass began to move closer the shuffling sound clearly coming from this massive creature. As Alexander was approached by the mass he prepared himself for the worse. Finally coming into the light, a hulking man with a cloak on it's hood covering his face approached him. "Behold my full glory!" The man exclaimed as he threw the cloak off of him. When the cloak was removed Alexander saw the man for the first time. He was roughly seven feet tall and thick like a tree, his forearms were as big as a grown mans thigh. From his back two folded leathery wings protruded out, his head was that of a dragon with curved horns and thick scales all over. His chest was of a man but having so many scars and previously healed wounds made this man appear mangled and this made Alexanders stomach convulse. His eyes burned with the evil and hatred of countless millennia of war and suffering.

"Now, I ask again, What do you want? Why have you disturbed my domain?" said the man. "I'm not sure what you mean, I don't know how I got here..." "Ha ha, I guess today is my lucky day! I've been awarded a snack!" the man exclaimed while licking his scaly lips with a long forked tongue and smiling to display razor sharp teeth ready to tear into his next meal.
