The Courage

"Hey, what did you say?" asked Gabe.

"I got a neon blue sign in front of me."

Michael wondered why Gabe asked that question again. Gabe walked over to him and saw the sign. It read:

"HELLO, I AM Man Of Yogurt"

"I SAVED YOU"

"IM GOING BACK TO SLEEP NOW"

"Wait!" exclaimed Michael.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT?"

"What are you?"

"I AM YOUR SYSTEM"

"What's a system?"

"YOUR SPECIAL POWER BROUGHT FROM DESPERATION"

"I AM LEAVING NOW"

"Wait!"

The sign disappeared, and Michael slumped over against the wall, disappointed. He had yet to figure out what the socalled system did. He just had to wait for the next time it popped back up. Gabe walked over to him while Chris inspected the corpse. "So you have a system?" Gabe asked. "Yeah, although I don't know what it does" Michael replied.

"I also got a system" Gabe whispered to Michael.

"Really? What does yours do?"

"I can revive when I die."

"Wow that's pretty good."

"Yeah I guess so."

Michael wondered what his could do. It involved a bright light with a laser or some light weapon. Perhaps he could control light. He thought that he could just think about it later. He stood up and walked with Gabe to the corpse to also inspect it. It had a smooth cauterized hole, about five inches in diameter. That was all there was to the hole.

Gabe stood up. "Well, I guess that's all there is to that." Michael stood up and joined Gabe and Chris. "We should gather resources and find if more people are here" said Gabe. They all walked around the room and got food and water. They all walked up to the front door of the apartment. Chris had his 44 magnum back and ready to go, with 4 shots remaining. Michael had the backpack of supplies. Gabe reached for the door.

Elsewhere in a dark room: "This hurts like crap" muttered a croaked voice. "Where am I?"
