"Quill!!!" Auryon yelled as she came out to check on Quill after the sounds of fighting died out.
"Oh gods no!" Auryon yelled as she ran over to Quill who was laying face down near a pile of charred bodies.
"Thank goodness your alive!" Auryon sobbed after she checked Quill and found him without an injury.
"Auryon?" Quill asked as he came to after Auryon rolled him over.
"Don't you ever do me that way again!" Auryon sobbed as she kissed Quill who was still stunned from exhaustion of using so much magic.
"Elder, what should we do?" One of the villagers asked Elder Gwen as she stood a couple of feet away from Auryon and Quill.
"Let's get Quill inside so he can rest. You two, carry him to the elder hall and put him on the guest bed there. Auryon, help them and show them the way." Elder Gwen said before she sent the rest of the villagers away to finish constructing houses.
[Goblins slain: 8]
[Qi absorbed]
[Body Cultivation: Blood Qi LVL3]
"Huh, I can get stronger from fighting as well?" Quill groggily spoke aloud as he awoke inside the house that was recently built for the elders.
Quill turned his focus towards his blood to check for changes and noticed more flecks of what could only be Qi.
"Huh, there's more of this flecks than before, I wonder how much stronger I am?" Quill said as he raised up only to be stunned by pain from his injuries.
"Quill! Are you okay? Why are you talking to yourself?" Auryon said as she rushed over to Quill after entering the room.
"Auryon, I'm fine. This goblins came out of nowh…" Quill attempted to speak only to be cut off by a kiss from Auryon.
"I don't care, if you leave the village to go anywhere I'm coming with you. There's nothing you can do to stop me. I thought I lost you once, I'll be damned if I lose you." Auryon broke down as she held Quill and soak him in her tears.
"I'm sorry Auryon, I will do my best to never worry you again." Quill said as he held Auryon while the guilt of his actions hit him.
"We have to go, I have to get a group together to take out the rest of the goblins before they make another move on the village." Quill said as he slowly made his way out of bed.
"I'm not letting you go while your in that bad of a condition." Auryon said as she pushed him back into the bed.
"Elder Gwen, come get your niece!" Quill yelled out as he remembered how stubborn Auryon can be.
"I agree with her, get some rest. When you recover then you can go take out the goblins." Elder Gwen said as she walked into the room after eavesdropping on their entire conversation.
"So when I recover I can go take out the goblins?" Quill asked as he began to focus on his Qi and sent it towards his injuries.
'Hopefully, this works and I don't make them worse like an idiot.' Quill thought as his Qi began to flow around the injuries, slowly healing them at a speed noticeable to the human eye.
"There, I'm going to gather a group to take out the goblins. Auryon, do you want to stay here in case there are any goblins that make it past or would you prefer to come as well." Quill asked as he looked towards Auryon.
"I'll stay here, but if your not back within two hours I'll be coming after you all." Auryon said with a sigh as she gave Quill a kiss on the cheek, embarrassed by her aunt standing so close nearby.
"I'll be back as soon as I can." Quill said as he got out of bed and made his way to the center of the village, calling out to the villagers as he went.
"Everyone, there's a group of goblins living in the forest. The same forest our kids play in. The same forest our hunters hunt food for us in. The same forest our foragers gather food in. I'm calling you all for volunteers to go with me to clear them out. Who's with me!" Quill yelled out as young men rushed forward to volunteer, mainly hunters and apprentices.
"Meet me here in an hour and we shall begin our hunt!" Quill yelled out as he made his way around the village, inspecting their crude weapons as he went. He also checked on the houses under construction and discovered two more completed house and the start of more underway.
After making rounds around the village he made his way to the village hall and spoke with Auryon.
"I'm off, I have reinforcements this time. I'll be back with an hour if all goes well, two hours of it doesn't go as planned." Quill said as he gave Auryon a quick forehead kiss.
"You better come back, don't do anything reckless." Auryon said as Quill left and made his way back to the village hall.
"Are you all ready?" Quill asked the group that was waiting for him at the center of the village.
After no one responded or backed out Quill took that as affirmation.
"Follow me and stay close." Quill said as he led the villagers on the path he was ambushed on.
"Here's where I first encountered them, spread out and look for signs of their nests." Quill yelled out as he stopped at the first place he was attacked at.
After around thirty minutes of searching, one of the hunters approached Quill.
"I found their nest, chief." The hunter said as he approached Quill.
"Lead me there." Quill said as the hunter took point and lead Quill to what appeared to be a small hill. There was what appeared to be a tunnel dug into it with bones, ranging from the size of a finger segment to a grown man's femur, scattered around the entrance.
"Shall we go back and grab the others?" The hunter asked quietly as they monitored the entrance for movement.
"No need to,I can handle them on my own." Quill said as he began to pour as much Qi as he could into his palm to form another fireball, this one being five times the size of the other ones he has made previously.
"Holy shit." The hunter said as he stumbled back from the heat as Quill threw the fireball in to the goblin den.
"Fuck!" Quill yelled out as the top of the hill blasted off and charred goblin body parts rained down on him and the hunter.
"Chief!" The villagers yelled out as they rushed to the explosion, hoping Quill was fine.
"We're alright." Quill said as he stumbled to his feet, his ears still ringing from the explosion.
"Ow, my ears!" The hunter yelled out as he stumbled trying to stand.
"Let's head back and let the elders know the goblins were taken care of." Quill said as he began to lead the villagers back.
"Quill! What happened? What's covering you?" Auryon asked as she rushed towards Quill, only to stop when she smelled him.
"Goblin bits and chunks." Quill said as he made his way to the well and proceeded to wash off.
"You need rest, you look exhausted." Auryon said as she led the now somewhat clean Quill to his house and put him down on his bed.Quill fell asleep as soon as he went to sit on the bed.
