'I don't know which direction these tracks lead in but I don't have any other choice than to follow them.' Ivan thought to himself as he followed the tracks on the dirt road that went through the forest.
'This isn't my world at all. How did I get here? The last I remember was the rebels captured me and then the execution . . . I died. My plans were all for nothing. Why am I alive again? What's the point?'Ivan tried to think of why he was alive but alas only ended up more confused and agitated the more he thought of it.
'I need to focus on living now. I need to find out where this body came from. It may seem identical to mine but it had to come from somewhere. I need to figure out what all I can do with this magic.' Ivan thought of the flames he witnessed earlier that shot out of his hands.
'This world is full of many dangers, those tracks earlier were massive, if I'm not carful and just judge everything off of my old worlds standards I'm gonna end up dead again.' Ivan continued his walk while keeping his eyes on his surroundings.
*Krrrrrrk* The sound of a stick breaking sounded like thunder in Ivan's ears as his head snapped into the direction of the noise only to be met with a site that stole his breath away.
It was appeared to be a massive deer from his home world. It was three times the size and was eating on the leaves of a tree. The snapping noise was the sound of it removing the branch from the tree.
'Holy shit that's a massive doe!!!' Ivan thought as his entire body froze as he starred at the doe.
*wsssssssw* The sound of something flying through the air grabbed his attention as he saw the shadow of an arrow go through the doe.
"A little smaller than normal but should feed the villagers for a day or two." A feminine voice spoke as a young blue haired woman clad in a hide coat and carried a long bow with a quiver on her back full of arrows.
"Who are you? What do you mean a little smaller that thing is massive?!?!" Ivan said as he approached the woman.
"Quill?!?! I thought I would never see you again!!" The woman said with tears in her eyes as she tackled Ivan to the ground and began to sob atop of him.
'Who is she? Wait, I think her name is Auryon? Is this the memory of the man whose body I now own?' Ivan began to relive quills memories.
' A hunter who in fear of his village fought off bandits with the help of a stranger he sold his life to ,huh, damn it, in appreciation of the amazing person he was I'll take his name and protect his home.' Ivan who will be now known as Quill thought as he returned Auryon's embrace.
"I thought I would never see you again! You are never leaving my site again!!" Auryon said as she pulled Quill to his feet. She and the previous Quill were raised like siblings by the elders of the village. Both were orphaned before they were able to remember their parents.
"Let's get this Delk back to the village, I swear to you I will never leave you all again." Quill said as he grabbed onto one of the Delks legs, he discovered its name from Quills memories.
"Let's go before the elders worry more, I can't wait for them to see you alive and healthy again." Auryon said as she grabbed the other front leg as they dragged the Delk down the dirt road towards the village in the same direction Quill was traveling.
'Thankfully I picked the right direction or else who knows what would have happened.' Quill said as he continued to help drag the Delk as he sneaked looks over at Auryon beside of him.
"We are almost home just a couple more feet." Auryon said as the village came into view.
'The place seems so primitive, I was hoping that it wasn't exactly as the memories showed but it appears worse than what it was in the memories. Dirt roads? Thatch houses? Many people sharing one house and shitting and pissing in buckets only to dump them in the street? It appears I need to advance this village as much as I can.' Ivan thought to himself as he continued to stare at the village.
"Let's put the Delk here next to the wall the butchers apprentice can take it to him, we need to go talk to the elders." Auryon said as she dragged Quill to the village elders.
"Quill!!! You alive, it's a miracle from the Devine's!!!" An old grey haired woman that appeared to be in her 60's and was wearing what appeared to be primitive clothes made out of animal hides said as she grabbed Quill as soon as walked into the village hall.
"I'm perfectly healthy elder Gwen." Quill said with a smile as he hugged the old woman.
"Where are the other elders ma'am? " Auryon asked as she noticed the hall was empty.
"They're out filling in places of the deceased villagers." The elder replied sadly.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" Quill asked as the elder appeared even older than she already was.
"Go home and rest, let us elders atleast do this much since we were too old to participate in the fight. You have done enough already." Elder Gwen said as she pushed the two out of the hall.
"She's right Quill go home and rest." Auryon said as she shoved Quill in the direction of his home.
"I'm going, I'm going." Quill said as he walked to his small thatch house that he shared with one of the recently deceased villagers.
'I need to plan out how to upgrade this village, the first thing I need to do is to fix these damn houses. They don't have any insolation and when winter comes there will be many deaths from hypothermia and starvation. I need to make a way for the villagers to store food. I don't see any grain storages and it looks like their main sources of food are foraging and hunting.' Ivan thought his he focused on his next goal.
