Instead of continuing the topic, the three began to observe the crowd about their age.
It was interesting as different kinds of people were gathered.
Unlike the small group they met in the training camp, those in this place seemed strong. What was even more noticeable was the sly look in most of their eyes. Just being among them, Wang Lu was already foreseeing trouble.
The result was not surprising, after all this was the gathering of all of the Wang clan's geniuses. The three finally managed to see the place of testing martial arts strength.
Looking into the distance he could see seven lines, and it seemed they had to go that direction.
"It seemed like we would be in this place for a long time." Xingyue couldn't help but complain.
What he had said was indeed not bad, it was unfortunate, that no one was in the mood to listen.
They could only drag themselves at the end of one of the lines.
Just like that, they were passed by an entire day before their turn reached. They each had contribution tokens, it was given while in the Training camp.
Considering less than twenty of them managed to get the chance to come to this place. It was already enough to show that the best of the best were given the chance to enter the cities.
More than that, things seemed far more complicated considering that the Abyssal World's strongest person had decided to give out opportunities.
The clans knew of this, and so they were making preparations. Each had their thoughts and schemes. But one thing was genuine, they wanted their clans to become stronger.
When Wang Lu, Xingyue, and Shi Yi reached the front, they saw how things were happening, the previous group of about fifteen people on each line took a step forward, as though they were testing together.
Before Wang Lu could even figure out what had happened, a voice reached them, "Next!"
Walking forward, he seemed to have passed through something like a water curtain, and looking up in the sky, it was blood-colored.
He had seen this familiar scene before, at the time, it was Yue Li who had unleashed a blood-colored python.
"What a familiar scene!"
But he didn't focus much on the sky, rather he looked around and could a massive group of people gathered. But he had a sense of de ja vu, and thus he looked into the sky again, but to his surprise, a massive figure seemed to be moving before red claws became apparent.
He looked around and could see panic reflecting on everyone's faces, but none of them acted afraid, rather they seemed ready.
Even Xingyue was holding the sword with both hands. Shi Yi had the spear ready to strike. He was the only one that seemed casual, as such he held the saber to not seem out of place.
But he didn't stop observing until he heard the voice from the sky.
"Only ten left standing!"
The message was clear and straight before pressure was brought down on them. But it wasn't enough to bring them down. But even so, each of them turned hostile.
Wang Lu had to shout Xingyue and Shi Yi's names to have them regain clarity.
"We retreat! Considering we are not at the center, it is not going to be a problem to protect ourselves. Let's just buy time." He said as he held the sheathed saber.
Looking into the sky, he couldn't help but marvel. He didn't see that actual figure in the sky, but he could tell it was more like a blood-colored dragon.
He just didn't know that he was standing under a great grandmaster's spirit dragon vigor. It was also normal to be controlled by them. Once everyone turned violent, the three of them could barely protect themselves, but they realized that the numbers were dropping fast.
"Don't hold back! It seems that those that become incapable of fighting will be expelled." Wang Lu commented as his attacks became fast and ruthless.
"How do you know?" Xingyue was already ruthless and she didn't need any reminders, but she still asked.
"Can't you realize that the numbers are dropping? There were more than a hundred people gathered in this place, but now you should be able to see that those who are badly injured are not on the ground." As for why he didn't talk about the dead, it was obvious.
The pressure in this place was making it impossible for them to go all out, and the best they could do was injure each other.
In less than twenty minutes, the number of those left standing was only nine. Wang Lu and the rest finally felt the pressure vanish.
An entrance was also opened on the other end. It was not the path they came in, but they followed it as they didn't want to stay in this place for long.
But upon walking outside, two of the nine that had survived started to talk down on the rest. When he turned his attention to the trio, Wang Shi Yi's spear flashed by so fast, and he only found himself lying on the ground.
"Best not point those fingers are us again, or I'll make sure to teach you a lesson." Seeing this coldness in the woman's eyes, the teenage boy shivered.
Wang Shi Yi had not spent most of her time in the clan. She had followed her grandfather around and her spear must have seen blood.
That was something that Wang Lu had suspected, and now he was sure. He couldn't help but secretly look at Wang Xingyue, only to find he didn't flinch at all.
"Damn! This guy has also seen his fair share of blood." This was not a bad thing, as the world was a dangerous place. He was just thinking that he was the only one who might end up hesitant if there came a day they had to deal with an enemy.
It was one thing to learn weapon skills, but it was another if one couldn't use them when it mattered.
Now that he thought about it, the three of them managed to avoid being affected by the situation in that domain. It was not because of his shout, this guy could have recovered just as fast, but he just hastened it.
"I'm lacking in decisiveness. I should think of ways to make up for this, or it would not be any good for me." He thought secretly.
