The Most Dangerous Enemy

"Lady, your force is limitless!" the priests commented as if he could see through Ye Shin's ability.

The lady calmly looked at him with blank expression. She had thought that maybe the man is trying to give him a hint of asking her inner force. She slowly stepped forward and held the man's pulse. Then she gives her inner force on him.

Her action confused the three people but they did not say anything. Emperor Hong Te's mouth slightly gapes. Emperor He Mo also frowned and stared at Ye Shin while the priest looks surprised when he felt his vitality slowly rise up. A pure inner force surged down on his veins and soon after his energy was restored.

The priest smiled at her gesture and gradually clasps his palm and utters a word in a form of prayer. A bell slowly formed in front of him.

The Hong Emperor frowned as the object he was looking for days appeared out of nowhere. He was about to ask the priest of what was happening but he had not manage to form a word in his thoughts. The priest stood up and gives a customary bow to Ye Shin.

"You will bear this continent's future." the priest said and slowly handed the bell to Ye Shin. The lady looks like she did not mind what she had just heard.

The bell, though identical in appearance with the object the priest used to carry, it was actually different. The bell he had produced just a few breaths ago had contained the prophecy about the drifting continent he had just dreamed numerous times.

Ye Shin accepted the object subconsciously. The priest looked at her solemn face with full of satisfaction. His tear slowly drips from his eyes and the man casually wiped them using the back of his hands. He could not contain his happiness that his energy is back to normal! Just a while ago, he had surrendered his life to fate. He felt elated. This priest had been expecting to be gone in this world just a moment ago!

After a long silence, the priest thanked the Hong Emperor before he walked out of the room. Ye Shin looked at the tiny bell and saw the unreadable words carved on it.

"HoHoHo... You have saved the life of Priest Wan Wen, Lady Ye Shin. That man practiced divination, you will surely be blessed with luck on your life!" the Hong emperor suddenly speaks to her while smiling at her.

"Thank you, your highness." Ye Shin replied at him and place the tiny bell in her space ring.

Somewhere in the Capital of Hong Empire, Zi Ye managed to meet up the Zikun Sect Sword Masters. They were already renting a small pavilion and are resting in one room.

"Young master, how did your investigation go?" someone asked him.

"We were interrupted but it was still not a waste of time. There is no rush. I plan to go back on that palace tomorrow. It's good that they allow people to enter as long as there is a ticket. Buy me an appointment, I will go there alone." Zi Ye said and ordered the man to buy him an entrance ticket.

"I made some inquiries earlier. The lady is not from this kingdom. She is a bodyguard of the Emperor of He Empire. Young master, be careful. You may be immune to curses but since she is a bodyguard of an emperor, this lady may have skills in putting up a fight!" another man informed and warned him. Zi Ye just nods his head before removing his sword on its scabbard.

"She is a Sword Cultivator but her weapon is not that impressive. Her temperament on the other hand is similar to Master Zi Fen. Her calmness speaks of something." Zi Ye told them and the other started to gather around him.

"Then we need to take her in one blow once we launched our attack. We must not give her the opportunity to strike back. A calm person is the most dangerous enemy." he heard one of his companion responded with full of confidence. The other also expressed their affirmation.

Zi Ye slowly touched the blade of his sword and looked at his reflection on the shining metal. His companion went on their conversation but he suddenly became silent. He was determined to avenge the death of La'er. After a while, he puts his sword away.

The next day, he went back to the palace holding his appointment. The guard still checked him and he undergone the same routine before he was allowed to get inside. A servant guided him but this time he was led to a place with series of peach trees.

The servant must have felt his confusion because the man told him that the palace appointments differ in the area and date of visit. This means that yesterday, the area of visit was the Koi pond of their palace. As for today, the appointment of visit is the viewing of peach tree.

After the servant left him, Zi Ye saw families having picnic and couples around the area. Fortunately, his eyes had also caught his target. Several meters away, the lady stood on the side where there are group of men playing archery.

He casually walks towards the group.

"Do you want to play? 50 silver coins per arrow." A man approached him and offers an arrow. Of course, payment is involved!

"Maybe later, I'll just watch on sidelines." Zi Ye politely replied and stood next to Ye Shin. The lady did not glance at him. Her eyes is darted to Emperor He Mo who is about to pull the string of his bow and release the arrow.

Zi Ye observed and realized that his target is so open. He could easily assault her in his standing position. But for some strange reason, the idea of assaulting her makes his heart beats erratically. He then realized that he was actually nervous!

He secretly inhaled to calm his composure and looked away. He then saw the young emperor shot his arrow and hits the target. The man looked at his direction and smiled gently at the lady.

Then suddenly, out of nowhere, another arrow was violently flying straight to Zi Ye's direction. This time, the target is no doubt but him! His eyes widened and the onlookers gasped of the chilling scene. There is no enough time to block or dodge the arrow! When it reaches inches away from his forehead, he saw the arrow abruptly stopped. Then it was completely fall on the ground. Zi Ye subconsciously sighs in relief when the arrow did not hit his forehead.

Someone was obviously targeting him and wants him dead! This scene had quickly caused the people around to panic.

"There is an assassin!" he heard someone yelled loudly.

While the other people are shouting in panic, Zi Ye looked at the man in front of him who seems unaffected of the commotion around. Then he also took a quick glanced at the lady beside him and saw her, oddly having an undisturbed expression. She just looked on the ground where the arrow had dropped. When his eyes also darted on the ground then he swiftly picked at the arrow and saw a familiar blade on its tip. It was from the Zikun Sect's rival.

The Yangxi Sect!

He looked around then saw another arrow aimed at him. This time, he quickly dodged and the arrow past through him and hits the empty ground.

"Your enemy?" Zi Ye heard the calm voice of the lady standing not far away from him. Somehow, her calmness managed to influenced his temperament and calm him slightly. Their distance was already meters away after he successfully dodged the second attack.

"A rival sect." he quickly answered and then he heard a thud sound from someone falling on one of the peach trees not far from them. Zi Ye had not yet located his attacker yet it was as if the lady had just waited to confirm whether it was his enemy before she sent her blade to the man!

His head snapped on the person who had fallen and saw that it was the person who tried to assassinate him! He run towards the man wearing dark garments. When he checked on his assailant, he noticed that the man was already dead.

"Do you need him alive for interrogation?" someone asked. When Zi Ye looked at his right side, he saw that it was the Emperor He Mo. Of course, as the clear headed emperor, he knew how to deal with assassins properly.

"No need, your majesty." Zi Ye politely replied and stared back at the body of his attacker. There was a spiral wound on his throat that had probably caused his death.

"Be careful." the lady calmly told him before she walked away together with the young emperor.

Zi Ye was left alone until some palace guards arrived to check the area and interrogated him briefly. He was still holding the arrow during the questioning. When the palace guards left him, series of realization dawned upon him. The person he wants to kill had just saved his life!
